My first post here!
Here's my problem: I just finished bulding a new computer, and I have a loss of framerate compared to my old computer. Here are my specs:
New Computer:
CPU: Pentium 4 2.80Ghz, FSB 800Mhz, Dual-Channel DDR 400.
Mobo: Asus P4P800, Intel i865PE chipset
Chipset Driver: 5.00.1012 (latest from Intel)
USB Driver: 1.00 (Latest from Intel)
Memory: Geil 512 Mb PC-3200 (400 Mhz) Dual kit (2 x 256)
Video: VisionTek GeForce 4 Ti-4600 128 Mb DDR
Video Driver: Nvidia Detonator FX 44.03
Sound: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer (NOT 5.1)
Sound Driver: SB Live! LiveDrvUni-Pack, Date: 2/28/2003 4:07:00 PM

As you can see, my new computer is a beast compared to my old computer. I discovered the low framerate problem with an OpenGL screen saver I have, which displays the framerate when it runs. With my old computer, I could get 95-99 FPS, while I can get no more than 64-65 FPS with my new computer. This strange and unexpected behaviour can also be observed in games such as Quake III or Unreal Tournament.
Needless to say, I tweaked evey setting to their "best performance" value.
