ReadError

For 2 days now, when I first enter the forums after opening my browser, I get an error saying in line 32, 'awin' is null or not an object. But the forums are working ok. I don't get the error again until I close my browser and reopen it.

I found the problem, I uninstalled Visual Interdev 6. It seems that it f*cked up something in the configuration.

Use Lavasoft Ad-aware, my sister was having those kind of popups too. After ad-aware, it was Ok.

Is there a way to repair windows installer in XP without reinstalling windows of course, when I try to install an application that uses this installer, it keeps looping with "Preparing to install" even if I hit cancel or the big X crazy . I can't install a thing that requires it.

I searched google for "windows installer XP repair" and tried different things listed. I'm not sure which one worked though. I also freed some space on the C drive. Maybe that was the problem, but it is, the installer is stupid for not telling us.

Problem solved.

I can install the same programs on another machine fine even with antivirus active. So antivirus is probably not the problem.

IE doesn't have a virus scanner, so it's not a real Virus alert.

Not recommended, enable guest account. Better, create a local account on the Pro machine so the home can access.

If you don't have the deluxe version, I would suggest to directly use the RealTek (latest beta) drivers for the onboard sound. I use them and don't have any problems (well, not right now lol )

Ok, with XP Styles enabled, you must use the Classic start menu and click the Customize button to see the "Use personalized menus" option

If you don't have XP Styles enabled, the option is at the same place as in 2000 With XP styles enabled, I don't remember, I look later at home.

I had this problem once, it was because of nvidia's sw-ide drivers. If you have them, change back to the windows standard ide drivers.
