help me!! wen i go to install might and magic 8 on me comp, the install shield gauge comes up and then it goes to 99%. At this point a cross will come up and it will disappear. I use another comp and it works fine. how do i fix it?

wen i go to install m +m 8 on my home comp with xp, install shield comes up and it goes to 99%, ten a cross comes up and it terminates. i try another comp wit xp and it works beautifully. how do i fix it?
