Just be ready for a little disapointment. WineX is great, but doesn't play everything. I can get a few games to run really well, but more often then not, there are issues and it's a pain to get them going.

Which version? 9.2?

Right click on desktop create new new shortcut to application Give it a name Hit the 3rd tab on top I think, then browse to your /usr/bin folder and find the netscap executible. That should work.

Good computers with linux gaming. A good combination?
Lostman replied to Tekchip's topic in Linux Games
The target demagraphic would be pissed that you are using "gaming" but not offering them the ability to play the games that they want. There are so few native linux games out now. I know this will change soon, but as of now there is no support for popular games like BF1942 and COD. While you can install WineX and hope to get them running that way, it is too tempremental and you'll spend more time with tech support then selling PC's. -
You should be fine. Don't know why you would use raid anyway. It's not like your running a server or anything.

I heard it's a pain to watch DVD's in Linux. I have a DVD-ROM and I can get the first 30 seconds of a movie and it stops.

I agree 100%. But I just paid for SuSu and am not using it. $60 down the drain. So I have to wait untill I can help out the community for a bit. I'll let you know how my ebay thing goes. I should get them anyday now. I could have d/l them, but I quit Windoze cold turkey and don't know how to burn ISO's in Linux yet.

I'm a noob, so: I tried Red Hat 8 a while back. Had no idea what I was doing and my install didn't last long. Tried SuSu Pro 8.2 after leaving linux because I was afraid of it. It installed fine but my internet didn't work, and I need my internet to get info on how to fix other issues. So you can guess how that turned out. Am running Mandrake 9.1 now (with 9.2 on the way) and love it. It gave me all the hardware compatability off the bat so I can learn at my own pace insted of being forced into it.

I got mine off of ebay for 1.99.

How do you install UT2003 mutators and skins?

That's funny as hell! -
Did you try to install Point2Play first? You can install your Winex from that. P2P is the front end GUI for WineX. Very helpfull.
