    Red Hat 8/9. Is there anyway of recognising a USB ports input as what would come from a Ethernet card?

    I currently use a Ethernet to USB external adaptor to enable connection to the internet for my Windows installation to free up my network card for connecting to other computers on the network. How do I do this in Linux? I had problems trying it the other way round, and would like it the same way as my windows installation but I'm unsure of how to go about it. Any help on this would be gladly appreciated. Thanks, Newbie Martin0123456.
