helo, i tried installing warcraft3 about more than a year ago and all i can say is that it did not ran smoothely on my pc, i had a p4 2.4GHz pc, 256MB of RaM, and 64MB of Built in video card. wen i tried to play it, it was pretty slow. i used winex on my fedora core 2 linux.

helow, you are probably right, it is a winmodem. I made a thorough research over the net and found a site called linuxant. It offered a driver for my modem the softv90. My modem is a prouct of conexant. I have not tried the modem yet but i will be glad to share whatever outcome will be. And also, i havent tried to change the direct tty designation. Wat happend was when i turned on my computer and choose linux as it prepares to load some drivers, etc...kudzu detected my modem. It clearly specified there, then when im in linux already and tried to configure the internet using my modem, it presented me with that problem i was mentioning before.

i hav a problem with xine. it displayd and error: Xine engine failed to start No demuxer found-stream format not recognized. that was wat xine displayed. I tried to play .avi files and it displayed dat error messagea bove. It will only play a few seconds of the video then it stops.

hello, how can i configure my linux to share internet. my computer that has an internet has lancards on it. i do not hav a router or any device other than the lancard. im using fedora core 4. in windows it is easy to share internet connection, is it also easy on linux??? maybe someone can point me to some tutorials on it. tnx

danleffs right! you just comment out the entries for your old kernel but be careful not to comment out those that are needed. # sign is used for commenting out entries.

you should remember that it is important to install windows xp first or else if you install fc4 first and then xp, what happens is that windows xp will not recognize your fc4.

ihad a sound problem in debian and fedora core 2. it goes like this, everytime i login to root i get this prblem: Sound server informational message: Error while initializing the sound driver: device /dev/dsp can't be opened (no such device.) The sound server will continue using the null output device.

i have a problem with my sounds in debian when i boot to debian, after loging in a message would pop up saying that /dev/dsp is not found or something. what shall i do?

i tried it already but everytime i logged in as root or any account i always get that error.

hi, i have a mother board labeled bxcel pc100 on it, it has a slot type processor pentium 3 450Mhz. can i upgrade the processor to something like pentium 3 700 + Mhz? or something greater than the 450 Mhz? it also has an agp slot on it. is it ok that i put on a 64mb videocard with my processor being p3 450Mhz? and also can i use a pc133 or pc150 sdram on it? i hav no manual for my motherboard so i hope you could help me out and maybe refer me a link to the manual. tnx a lot..

i have questions about windows 2000 server these are the questions: 1. i hav a client computer having a winXP os, when a user logs in he would hav a mapped drive which is mapped to a share in my windos2000server where the user will save his files there. is there a way so that the user will save his files once and it will be saved in both the network or mapped drive and at the same time also on the local drive of that computer? 2. my second question is how can i make a backup server? how to set up one? does the 2 hav 2 be win2k servers? do they hav to have the same configurations? if someone could refer me to some good tutorial about it especially dat is downloadable it would be a great help! dats all i hope someone could help me!

sometimes when i start xine it gets no problem about mrl and sometimes no problem about mrl.

i have a dell computer and i installed mandrake 10 and my problem is that i recieve errors, like fatal error something. i think its something about the monitors display because after installing it nothing will appear in the monitor but just corrupted images or something. What whall i do???

i am a newbie admin in a small school lab and i want to know if there is a way to find out who, what and when my windows server 2003 is accessed. i think my fellow workers has changed or accesed something in my server remotely without me knowing it. is there any log file that would register whats has been changed on your computer and who did it, like who accessed the computer at this time, etc. is there a way o log the events in your computer even if somebody is changing your computer remotely?
