I have a similar setup w/ a Leadtek PX6600GT When I configure X I select generic geforce fx for my card & I change my monitor to match my Viewsonic E75f & it works flawlessly. Hope this helps

I forgot to mention if your a club member you have access to custom rpm for the ATI driver which works out of the box. Just install & reboot.

Have a look at this thread. http://www.linuxcompatible.org/thread31975-1.html

I forgot to mention this is for HD install only. It does not make a Live DVD. Mandrake Move is used for that purpose.

Hello parx86, I am a Mandriva club member & I have a Radeon 9800pro I had the same issue with the pre release. I found that issue to be a glitch in the test portion of setting up the graphics. My system worked fine if I skipped the test portion & proceeded with the rest of the install. Good luck

I have done this with every release of Mandrake since 9.2 There is a script made for redhat that does the trick called mkdvdiso.sh from ftp://people.redhat.com/ckloiber/ You will need the ISO files & this script, also enough hard drive space to create the DVD.iso. Open a terminal & become root. Here is the command I use; sh mkdvdiso.sh /home/dave/isos /home/dave/dvd.iso growisofs -Z /dev/scd0=/home/dave/dvd.iso /home/dave/isos is the folder where I put the cd.iso's & DVD.iso is the final image to be burned at no more than 4x, any faster & you will get errors during the Mandrake install. Hope this helps.

Hi landroni, In windows or linux make sure you select burn image file. Don't open the ISO & burn the contents. Also you should burn the ISO image at no more than 8X for best results. Let us know if this helps.

Hi all, regarding partitions. If you use auto allocate after selecting the 17gig portion of your drive, you will be ok. I currently use 18gig for Mandrake 10.1official 5.8gig /root 1gig swap the rest for /home Dual booting Mandrake & XP pro for games

Hi all, I have a P4 rig see below; P4 3ghz Abit AS8 mombo 2x512 OCZ dual channel Maxtor 80gig SATA Radeon 9800Pro 128mb NEC DVD-RW 1300A on board sound & nic Lian Li PC-5 Aluminum ATX Enermax Noisetaker 370w PSU Canon i550 usb printer Dual boot WinXP + Mandrake 10.1 Mandrake 9.1 did the same for me. Since Mandrake 9.2 the install detects my SATA drive with no problems at all. I think it's like Soll30 said, you need to supply a driver at that point. Check with MSI & Nvidia for a linux driver.

Hey, you mentioned in your first post your gateway is your router. If you connect through a router you should set it to DHCP I think. Did Mandrake detect your NIC during the install?

Hi Koop, in the settings under K3b look for your devices & try changing the CD reader from your DVD-ROM drive to your CD Burner.

I did a little googling on this & it seems to be the on-board graphics. If possible I would add an an AGP graphics card & get away from the on-board video. Your system performance will also improve. I know Mandrake has made changes from XFree to Xorg to handle the video & I have seen lots of info regarding errors with your type of setup.

Hi yourek82, Can you post your system specs for us.

Welcome to Linux. First off, 10.1 is the latest offical release. I use this version & it run great. If you go to the Star on the taskbar, then to system, configuration, packaging & finally mandrakelinux update. Click on this & give the root password. Then choose from the sites listed closest to you. High speed connection recommended. After this just follow the directions. Hope this helps.
