Help.. i have finally came to terms with RH9 2.4 kernel not supporting Sata Drives, and have read that FC2 does because of the 2.6 kernel. the only thing that's stuffed right now is that i can't find an appropriate driver disk for the SATA disk. i have siI3112A onboard with the Asus A7N8X-E deluxe. i have 2 * 120 GB Western Digial HDD's on raid 0. if someone knows where i could get a driver disk i would be into to that person. there is no way i would use an standard ATA hdd to boot from. help.. basically all i know how to do is install the programs i dont' knwo how to run them!! lol.. i feel stup!d can someone give me an idea how to use wine. if winex is better could someone post a link to download it thanks in advanced viper

i found my problem.. my graphics card i got is very new.. so i download the linux driver of the ati website and now it works.. thanks for the help guys

i got into the linux GUI.. and now i'm running gnome... i'm trying to update gaim.. but i won't let me.. i have to be logged in as root.. how can i do that and install the updated gaim?? is there a way to get back to the linux prompt where i was before i fix the problem?

i got linux installed i had to update the graphics card driver.. which wasn't that hard.. i just need some help with gaim.. i wanna use my msn account.. but when i connect it says protocol not supported.. can anyone help me?

hey dammer.. i have to spell it XFdrake correct? and i tried xf86config.. adjusted my monitor and graphics card.. still won't work.. but i'll try XFdrake.. thanks for the help.. i'll let you know what happens

i recently re installed linux for the 5th time same problem.. when i boot linux it goes into a prompt mode.. i tryed "startx" but i can an error.. saying something about my monitor.. is there a quick fix for this?

guess what i got it too work.. the problem now is every time i start linux it's in a console mode.. where's the GUI? is there a command to start it up.. or have i installed incorrectly.. btw the first problem was the way i burnt it.. usually i dont make mistakes like that.. i extracted the contents using winrar then burnt the files.. big mistake.. the cd still didn't boot but i just used the floppy to boot..

do you think linux red hat 9.0 would be better/?? what's the differents.. because all i know is windows xp.. lol.. but i wanna make the change.. and what cd's should i download..?? thanks for the help..

hey everyone.. i just downloaded mandrake about 2 days ago.. and i'm having problems installing it.. the cd won't boot and when i made a floppy boot it says please insert linux mandrake installation cd, when it's in the cd rom. i'm not using a LG rom so i shouldn't have any problems.. i just wanna know. is there any special way of burning it to a cd is there a special name that i have to call it.. any help would be great thanks viper..
