I've got some problem with Samba and a WinXP Pro client. I configured Samba to by a Domain Controller but when I try to access it from WinXp Pro, I get the following error Quote: Note: This information is intended for a network administrator. If you are not your network's administrator, notify the administrator that you received this information, which has been recorded in the file C:\WINDOWS\debug\dcdiag.txt. The domain name home might be a NetBIOS domain name. If this is the case, verify that the domain name is properly registered with WINS. If you are certain that the name is not a NetBIOS domain name, then the following information can help you troubleshoot your DNS configuration. Is there software firewall like Zonelabs, available for Linux or Do I have to manually configure it on Linux. I used the mandrake control center to set up the firewall but all my tests failed on grc.com.
-
Quote: Oh. I see. What distro are you using? Most have a built in firewall that is very easy to configure.. Madndrake 9.2 but I did not know the name of the built-in firewall.

I think smoothwall is use to make your PC, a firewall. What I want is a firewall within my Linux OS. Code: The intention was to create a firewall operating system distribution based on Linux, enabling a low-end, possibly otherwise redundant, Intel and compatible PC to become a hardened Internet firewall. Thanks anyways EDIT I think I found what I was looking for. It's called Firestarter and it seems to be good so far. http://firestarter.sourceforge.net
