hmm tough cookie try this one "del \\?\c:\recycler\nprotect\00000000" use it as is change c for d if it is actually on d but it must be used with the full path maybe try it with the dot too edit : maybe try to use the wildcard * not too sure if it works with this particular command

    Norton Protected Cycle Bin

in regards to alexstar here what you might wanna try open a dos command prompt goto recycle/norton folder using cd\recycler\"norton" (whatever the name is) than using the "DIR /X" you will get a listing of the files it contains with both their long name and their 8.3 format using del "file1" (in its 8.3 format) you should be able to delete if it a folder use rd "folder1" (again in its 8.3 format) note that the folder must be empty therefore you must manually delete files from subfolders yourself as well

    Norton Protected Cycle Bin

hmm if i remember correctly when i was using the 2004 version you could right click o n the recycle bin and norton added the option to delete the files it put in the "temporary delete" folder i believe it was also an option within the unerase wizard

    connect 2 computers

yeah i understand a little better now that i tried it guess i shouldve tried before asking on another note how about sharing another drive than the main c: (how safe is that --like can they touch my c: even though its not that one that is shared) also what do you mean by safe : other people can see/download my files or other people can see/download/delete/etc

    connect 2 computers

aight that sounds about right so if i understand all that correctly theres no way to share the whole computer? ( i mean not only what is inside a "share" folder)

Remove Recycler Folder on SUBST drives?

sounds to me like its impossible for instance if you delete something from d: to have it in the recycler from c: it would have to be moved first then deleted otherwise even though the information to restore a file would be on c, the file could still be lost as d: is independant from c: even though this is a single drive in practice, windows makes it work in theory therefore have them all work independantly as a last resort maybe try to "show system file" in folder option and selecting the RECYCLER folder then right click and properties to maybe have a few options i wouldn't know about since i don't use SUBST.

    question about memory....

first of all get a hand on your cpu fsb cause if you dont plan to change it and its running at 333mhz there's no point in getting a 400 mhz stick of ram (it will work but not optimally) second if you do plan to upgrade in the near future i suggest getting the 400mhz stick of ram and when you get a new mobo/cpu setup you can throw it in easily and btw like waffler said different rams are kind of a no-go especially if they're different brand
  11. hmm first of all how much ram do you have? second what's your soundcard? those two piece of hardware can cause such issues when multitasking, (in this case audio wise) as if the sound card is not good enough it will not buffer enough information therefore the time it takes to swap theres no data sended to the sound card which is where ram comes in as it wont take much time to swap basically priority wont do much of a difference here considering its a game environnement vs windows task

    What is this rubbish?

first dont buy from a store that says geforce4 fx they dont know what they're talking about, it doesnt exist second, any GeForce FX card above 5600 will do third make sure you get one with 128mb of memory so pick whichever yuo got enough money for *EDIT* with that said i strongly suggest you get 5700 128mb over 5600 i think it has much more bang for your buck [Edited by BabyBoy-- on 2004-05-02 03:37:34]
