I saw this one in linux questions.com. Type in # switchdesk KDE . With the # in front. I'm not really sure what it can do. But anyway, there aren't any graphical desktop switchers. Yet.

I'm using Fedora Core 2 but i don;t experience the problems ur facing. I can connect to MSN perfectly.

I experienced the exact same problem when i used redhat 9. There's nothing wrond. Just go into the volume settings and raise the bar under "CD". That's it. The volume is set to low by default.

I'm afraid there isn't as far as i know. Apparently, these companies don't find it feasible. Use Lime Wire.

I think the bootloader should be able to do that. Unless its the 2.6 kernel where there might be problems accessing windows. As for accessing the ntfs partitions, if u cant then u must download and install the ntfs drivers.

Are there any NVIDIA drivers for FC2 yet. I read somewhere somethime back that there weren't. I'm dying to play ut2004 on my linux box.

I was surfing the net and i came upon this thing called loki installers. Can any1 tell me what exactly does this do to enable games to run on linux and is this supposed to replace wine/winex or work with it?

Which distro u using? Try tweaking around in KMix if ur using FC2.

Im using a VIA integrated sound chip now and i dun get any sound although the chip is recognized. I nvr faced this problem before with previous versions of red hat like 8 and 9. Any suggestions if the problem lies with the OS or the chip?

I just got FC2 yesterday and when i installed it, i realised that i couldnt access the win xp partitions that is housed on the same hard disk as my FC2 installation. I also discovered that i couldnt get sound in my FC2. Im using integrated VIA sound chip which was detected but no sound. The volume was set to max. Somebody help me!!!

I cant access my win xp OS. i just get an error msg. The weird thing is that i can access my win xp on one com with FC2 installed but i cant on another .

I just downloaded FC2 and intend to install it ASAP however i read on the net that it has some problems with xp and win2000 partitions. I'm using a dual-boot setup with Xp. Anybody encountered this prob b4 and noe how to solve it?

I hace herad of that kind of problems before. Try other versions of Red Hat such as Fedora Core 2.

Use nvidia. Thats all i can say. ATI doesn't support linux much.

I'm using rh9 now and i recently changed my graphics card to an NVIDIA geforce FX 5500 256MB RAM. But i discovered to my horror that rh9 couldn't detect my card and that it could only support maximum 128 MB video RAM. Could any body help me out here? Fedora Core users, can pls tell me if fc and support 256 MB video ram?
