Hey thanks. Finally able to run mm8 in d3d. Didn't even think to change the settings in the registry. Apparently it doesnt like the setup program. Everytime I use it the game crashes and I have to reinstall it to get it to run again.

If I'm not mistaken 3do was just the publisher. Besides they are kaput now you wont get anything from them. I heard somewhere that another company was making a new homm game and that they might do another m&m.

ok I tried this on mm8 and it ran first time it's ever ran for me. but when I realized it wasn't in hardware mode I exited out and switched it. Now it wont run at all again.

you hit F4 once the game is running and it'll go back to full screen.

I had similar problems with vii. The only way I can get it to run is changing the desktop color to 16 bit so I can run the game windowed. Starting it up in a windowed software mode. then once the game is running hitting f4 so it goes into full screen. It runs this way Just wish I could run in hardware mode :x

Dunno if you still check these forums. But I'm interested in that compatibilty file. your post says e-mail but you dont give one. Or tell me which fixes to enable/disable.
