OK I used Ghost to copy XP and my data from a 40 gig to a 180 gig harddrive. XP is an upgrade version, so I think that may be the cause of my problem with the new hardware, but I thought it would at least tell me something is wrong...Anyway this is what happens when I try to boot the with the either drive drive... Windows starts to load. We have a warning window that says 'Goto hell if you don't have permission to use this computer (though in much more politically correct words). I click OK, then Administrator tries to login automatically (I should probably fix this and try the ghost again) but the password is wrong so I get a message saying something like 'You can not login because your username or ID is wrong.' I click OK. And Now here is where the new drive is different than the old drive... THE OLD drive goes to the normal XP login where you pick the ID you want to use and then enter a password and voila you are logged in. No problem THE NEW drive just stops right there. I do not get to see any login choices. CTRL+ALT+delete does nothing. The mouse cursor moves around happily as if nothing is wrong, even though there is nothing to point and click at and I scratch my head and go 'huh?' with a retarded look on my face. Any ideas on how to fix this? The computer, not the retarded look. Is it an issue with the new hardware and the XP activation (stuff that rhymes with k-rap)? If so, what can I do to fix it and why doesn't it tell me it doen't like the hardware and it thinks I'm a pirate? At least then I would know what the problem is, if not how to fix it.
