by the way... I've tried to boot with acpi=on, and the booting had frozen... apparently I have to use only APM... and my bios setup doesn't say much about it...

Hi... I installed fedora on my acer... it was quite painless... then I updated the video card (VIA KM400), and the driver for the touchpad. The problem now is that when I choose to poewr down, it restarts the laptop... I have either to use the button or to go to win XP and power down from there... any ideas?

I also run minstall and the lspci showed no modification. What happened is that my pci.ids was too old, then I went to ociids.sourceforge.net and get the newest one. I copied into /usr/share/hwdata and now lspci sees my VIA KM400 that's it
