Could be corrupt mail folders. Try deleting or renaming the Folders.dbx file in the user's store area and try starting OE again.

If a HD does not show on the Desktop then you must have a partition set up and a letter assigned to it. If you cannot assign a drive leter then those drive letters must be re-enabled. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307844 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;297694 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307079

Error logs flooding hard drive. I think. Windows 2003.

It sounds like your Email server is being Spammed, you need to configure SMTP for your domain and disable Anonymous login for the SMTP Virtual servers. See http://www.m[censored]change.org/tutorials/SMTP_Virtual_Server_Uncovered.html -
These days LLF's are done at the factory and cannot be done by a user. For XP, you can use CDROM drive setup to delete any existing partitions before creating a new one to install XP on it. http://www.ariolic.com/activesmart/low-level-format.html http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/disc/faq/ata_llfmt_what.html

For a disk to work in Windows 2000 you must make sure that there are no disk overlay software installed to use large HDs on older OSs. Check WD website on how to remove overlay software then the drive should be in the correct state. Also make sure the drive is the master drive on IDE channel 0 and not on a RAID controller or a SATA type controller which requires extra drivers.

Netbeui is an old protocol, it is superceded by TCP/IP. You need TCPIP, Client for Microsoft Networks and possibly File and Print sharing enabled to view drives on the server.

On NT4 you cannot convert a PDC to a Member server, you will have to reinstall NT to do that to change it status (you will lose its domain). You can convert a PDC to a BDC for the same domain but you cannot convert it for a different domain w/o another reinstall... You would be better off backing up data on it, reformat and reinstall Windows 2000/2003 or whatever and restore the data.

TRy this fix: 1. Open My Computer. 2. Right click on the Sims2 icon and choose Open. 3. Double-click on the DirectX folder. 4. Right-click on the DSETUP.dll file and choose Copy. 5. Close this window. 6. Open My Computer again. 7. This time, open your C: drive (usually called Local Disk). 8. Now open the WINDOWS folder. 9. Open the SYSTEM32 folder. 10. Right-click on an empty space in the folder and choose Paste. 11. Now try running the installation again. Or try: The only thing all of you should do is: Take the .exe and both .dll in the DX 9.0b folder and use them in the dx9.0c install intead of the ones you have. Step by step: Get both Dx 9.0b and Dx 9.0c REDIST (complete install file zipped) from File planet. Extract one in a TEMP folder like: c:\temp\dx9c and the other in another like: c:\temp\dx9b get the files "dxsetup.exe", "DSETUP.dll", "dsetup32.dll" from the folder that have the DX9b install to the one that have the DX9c install. Try Broadcom, all other manufacturers are 'Under development': http://www.broadcom.com/drivers/downloaddrivers.php http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/DevelopWithAMD/0,,30_2252_869_875^10454,00.html?redir=IEGFC07

win 2000 Server fails to start at first Login
peterh replied to ppc's topic in Everything New Technology
It may be trying to start up some background programs when you login. You can either wait for it to finish or load Explorer manually, by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del, load Task Manager, click on Application tab, select New Task and enter explorer.exe. Look in Startup folder and in the Run section in Registry to see which programs are loaded when you log in... -
I would start with memory first, 128M is the bare minimum and FS2004 is v. resource hungry. Upgrade to 512M or even 1GB! The Rage 128 is quite old now so upgrading to a Radeon card would be good step. Go for a mid range card e.g. 9600 or X600.

help with ATI Radeon 9200 installation and setup
peterh replied to mpowers2@kc.rr.com's topic in Hardware
You need to DISABLE your on board graphics card via the BIOS Setup screen ie set it to 0MB graphics, then set the default display adapter to AGP rather than onboard. -
Check thread here for a solution: http://www.ntcompatible.com/thread27064-1.html

Open a command prompt and type PATH, It should display something like: c:\windows\system32;c:\windows;c:\windows\system32\wbem etc so typing DOSX at C:\ prompt should run and not give a bad command error.

Word doc format is probably different. Get the office converter pack: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...;DisplayLang=en

Either the NT4 driver is underdeveloped or unsuitable for your setup. Best stick with old fashioned Parallel ATA drives for NT4.
-
USB on NT4 is basically rubbish. Upgrade to Windows 2000 or XP instead and save yourself the hassle or replace the printer with a parallel port version.
-
Windows installation is faulty. Do a repair install to fix it.

I visited shops recently and checked the requirements, you need a DX 8/9 compatible card that supports T&L 3D graphics such as recent Nvidea GeForce 3/4 and ATI Radeon cards (last 2 yrs). Built in graphics chips will be totally unsuitable for Pacific Assault eg. Voodoo, Intel Extreme, SiS, Savage S3, ATI Rage etc.

Either Autoexec.nt is missing or corrupt in C:\Windows\System32. Copy file from Windows CD.

I use WinAce which supports a wide range of archives. See http://www.winace.com
