You need XP's Boot.ini, Ntldr and ntdetect.com files on the boot drive to boot Windows XP. Booting off the XP CD and run Recovery console you can run Fixboot or Fixmbr to repair it. -
Looks like PnP is not quite working, it found a Mixer driver but it turns out to be the wrong one. You need to download the correct sound drivers and reinstall them or select a driver manually (point it to \windows\inf or wherever you put your sounds drivers eg CD).

Check cable connections and run a chkdsk on disk as well once XP is loaded.

If users access shared folders from servers, then you can view a list of active users using Computer Management console under Shared Folders, Sessions or Open Files (similar to Server Manager under NT4).

Reboot the computer. That gets round it!

Try clearing out your playlists or library from within iTunes and re-add your music files...

What type of Hard disk controller does it have? RAID, SCSI, IDE, SATA? Have you tried pressing F6 during boot up and supply the HD controller drivers on Floppy?

Sometimes you need to install the software BEFORE installing the hardware. What do the installation docs say?

What is the requirements for this game? Is it commerical, shareware or freeware? If so, where can one get it to test?

You only need the 10.1.6.x network IP addresses, the second IP addresses are not required. Also, I suggest changing the subnet masks from 255.255.255.128 to the standard 255.255.255.0 for Class C network.

Get a Win 98 boot disk and run FDISK and delete the Non-Dos Partitions or get hold of DELPART tool to remove partitions or something like Partition Magic to remove partitions.

Rem the unknown USB controller and tell it to install the USB 2.0 Hub Root. Some PCs have a mixture of USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports and can quite happily co-exist such as my Gigabyte VIA motherboard. Sometimes up[censored] the motherboard drivers may improve connectivity to USB devices.

Boot off the Windows XP CD and do a repair install (select Enter to install Windows and then R to repair it).
-
Open a command prompt. Use the CD command to change to the folder e.g. CD \MyFolder (\ means root e.g. C:\ is root for C: drive) Type DIR to list files in the folder, try the DEL command to delete files. e.g. DEL AFile

Have you tried to reinstall Windows on to off itself to repair Windows? You can do this by booting from XP CD, select Enter to install Windows then R to repair.

IDE to SATA DVD drive not working in XP

Load up Device Manager in Safe Mode (and Normal mode) and see what drivers its using? Maybe you need a newer driver to work in Normal mode, also check Driver Signing and make sure its not set to Block (Ignore or Warn is fine). Look in System Properties, hardware tab. -
Does on come on CD or Floppy disk? Is there a setup.exe? If not, what files does the media contain?
-
Take the discs back to the shop you got it from and ask for a replacement.

I have managed to install IE 6 on Windows NT via the windowsupdate web site.

you may need to disable the onboard graphics card and change the default video port in the BIOS to get a good picture.

Could be a broken USB port that is detecting 'ghost' devices. I would check ther motherboard again make sure all cables are attached correctly and so on.

If a user is using EFS then de-encrypt all their files first. Open Certificates.msc on their PC for their username, export their cert to a file for safe keeping, then delete their personal certificate. This should remove the certificate and stop contacting a potentially non-existant Certificate Authority Server (which the cert is trying to contact). Create a new personal certificate for that user if they wish to continue using EFS.

Try running setup.exe in Compatibility Mode to install the game.
