  1. I doubt it, your card is mainly for office duties not games. Get hold of a modern/fast AGP graphics card to play latest games.

If its a built in card, you need to increase the amount of memory for graphics in the BIOS (see system manual on how to do this). You can check it using DXDIAG.EXE utility to see how much memory and compatibility it has.

    Min requirements:

    *Windows XP or Windows 2000

*1.5 GHz Intel Pentium IV or AMD Athlon processor

    *512 MB RAM

*3D video card with 64+ MB video memory which fully supports DirectX 8.1

*At least 1GB free space on your hard drive

  2. Is it a retail version or an OEM?

Most XP CDs are bootable, you need to specify the CDROM drive as the first bootable device in the BIOS first.

If not you can download some XP boot disks from either:

    XP Home:

    XP Pro:

  3. is the CDROM drive visible in My COmputer?

Is the CDROM drive visible in Device Manager?

If yes, then its just the AutoRun feature has been disabled.

You can enable some of them in the properties of CDROM drive

in My Computer and enable autorun for different type of files on the CDROM.

There is also a registry fix, look for

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDROM and make sure the AutoRun value is set to 1.

  4. If the Active Directory domain is called connectky.local, then changing DNS will not change the Active Directory domain name.

You should be able to send mail fine, Your accounts will still be connectky.local unless you change the Recipient Policy to use the new domain ie connectky.org although you can set up a new Recipient Policy for connectky.org if you wish...

  5. It is possible via third party install, notebooks will probably have it with the drivers with the system. You need to look on your manufacturer's web page.

    e.g.

    Fujitsu:

    HP:

    Insyde:

Not all manufacturers will supply it so its a case of hit or miss...

  6. I don`t think its your router. Do you have any firewall software installed? Norton firewall has some personal security settings that can prevent connection to some sites that require you to login.

Otherwise it may be due to the site itself, for example, if its very busy and kicks people off or refuses to respond. Which sites are you having trouble with? What message do you get when it 'times out'?

  7. Set up your new drive as a slave (see jumpers on back of HD), and then download 'Data Lifeguard Tools' from WD website which has a feature for Disk to Disk copying of OS, Programs and data from one HD to another.

You will need to mark the new HD as 'Active' to make it bootable

    using Disk Management console.

  8. in Windows 2003, when sharing folders, Everyone is given just Read access. (In Windows NT/2000 Everyone is given Full Control by default).

To access shares what you need to do is set NTFS permissions for groups of users and give Full control for the Share. Shares always work on the most 'restrictive' permissions.
