  1. I'm sure this has been asked here before . . . but, I don't see any way to convert the existing FAT32 partition to NTFS. I just got a new laptop running XP Pro but I can't read the shares on the other machines on the network that are running Win2K and NTFS partitions. I can access the drives OK (it's not a network or permissions problem) so I'm assuming that it's NTFS that's causing the problem?? I can also read/write from the Win2K machines to the FAT32 drive. I'd like to convert the new drive to NTFS anyhow . . . but don't see a way to do it in the drive manager MMC. In Win2K there's an option to convert the partition NTFS. I'm sure XP Pro will allow the same, I just can't see where to do it. What I have is a single 40Gb drive in "basic" configuration that I really don't want to have to reformat or re-partition.
