Background: I have a Compaq Presario SR1020NX. I had connected to my university ISP and all was fine. I bought RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 and installed it. Problem: The hardward browser (scanner) does not find a modem. Hence will not proceed to setup the modem connection to my ISP. I have read that it's possible that my PC has a software modem? Do I have to install a new hardware modem? Help!
