I am wondering if anyone has any idea about making a ghost multicard bootdisk CD? I checked thru google and got nothing, however i did find out how to do it with Ghost 8. I am sick of using floppies! Thanks in advance Jonno

Just ask your friend who gave it to you for the key. However, when we get copies of CDs where i work we are given a key and told that we are not to give it out no matter what, or we face the same consequences of the person using it, what ever that means. Jonno

(This is 2000 Pro that this happened so i hope irs not of the topic.) I had this happen to a laptop yesterday at one of my schools, what i did was copied NTOSKRNL.exe from another system and then booted the corrupt system up with the XP CD, once in the recovery console i removed the XP disk and placed the disk with the new file in the rom, (could not use a floppy because the file 1.66MB) i copied that file to \\[system]\system32 then restarted. Booted up fine. 3 hours later it crashed and a new hard drive is on its way, however, igot the data i needed to backup of it. I hope this helps in some way. Jonno

Try the symantec web site here is the link to the blaster virus removal section. (There maybe a tool you can use as well) http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.html Read through the removal instructions carefully. And there shouldn't be a problem. Jonno -
Did your friend use adaware before this issue occured? I just had the same problem follow these instructions and it will sort the issue out for you. 1 Get into the recovery console. XP cd 2 Get the file userinit.exe from another computer. (location windows/system32 folder) 3.- Overwrite the userinit.exe original file (from the infected computer) with the new one (use a cd or disk to transport it) (Command e:/userinit.exe c:/windows/system32/userinit.exe) 4.- Rename the userinit.exe to wsaupdater.exe And that should fix your problem .
