i scanned my computer and found that i have the Lovelettr.as virus on my computer, my infected files are those of the programs of my scanner, and i tried to uninstall all of it, but it didnt allow me too, i also looked up information bout it and all i found was some ways to supposedly remove it by going into the registry and i tried to do that but i didn't find the files it said to delete. I'm not sure what I can do to get rid of it ... thanks!

thanks for the help, i deleted those files that i had metioned before and i ran another scan on my whole computer and found no more infected files. but i searched for those that u told me to look for and i didnt find any matches for them, so does that mean that my computer is free from the virus now? or just that theyre under a different name? i read somehwere that one of the things that this virus does is take over the communications so i was wondering if that was one reason why my MSN MESSENGER doesnt allow me to connect to it anymore, i dont understand why, since it will allow me into the aol messenger, the msn one tells me that "we were unable to connect u into .NET messenger service possibly because of a problem with the service or with your internet connection. Please make sure that you are connected to the internet. 0x81000301 then it says that to see the status of hte messenger service click on help, and when i click it it tells me taht the service is running correctly, so i was wondering what it is that is holding me back from connecting to it. the other day i tried uninstalling it and redownloading it, and that didnt help at all. thanks for the help.

umm, well sorry bout posting in the wrong spot i'll make sure next time, but thanks for the web site , well i went to it and since i hhave the lovelettr.as i found out it was a little more difficult to remove it and i went to the registry to look for those file names it said and i didnt have any of those, so i used my system scanner and foudn where the virus was and i removed them, but found that it was in more places than i thought it was.. it said this: Found virus In File: C:\HP\HPSEQUENCE\LANG.VBS Name: VBS_LOVELETTR.AS Found virus In File: C:\HP\ONLINEDOCS\QLINK3\GRAPHICS\QL3COVER.JPG.VBS Name: VBS_LOVELETTR.AS Found virus In File: C:\HP\HPCOACH\COLOR2\COLORS.VBS Name: VBS_LOVELETTR.AS Found virus In File: C:\HP\HPCOACH\COLOR\COLORS.VBS Name: VBS_LOVELETTR.AS Found virus In File: C:\HP\HPCOACH\COLOR3\COLORS.VBS Name: VBS_LOVELETTR.AS Found virus In File: C:\HP\HPCOACH\COLOR1\COLORS.VBS Name: VBS_LOVELETTR.AS now i was wondering what would happen if i deleted those files and if it would ruin anything on my computer... by the way i have windows 98 if that helps at all... i hope u can help. thanks!

i posted the other day bout my windows 98 internet problem and i got this as a reply: "I've seen this happen to W98 when 1) AOL messes up the TCP/IP connections, 2) an old version of Ad-aware removes a registry key disabling IE and 3) when a virus, trojan or BHO has attached itself. If you are pretty certain this wasn't caused by an old version of Ad-Aware, download program - LSP fix and run it: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4180.html With some luck this should restore the layer that may have been removed. LSP fix is a little intimi[censored], but read the screen closely. You are looking to restore the lsp.dll Then, download and run Spybot and BHO Demon just to be sure that it wasn't a bug that may still be in the system. If you are not using the newest Ad-Aware, upgrade it and then run it." but my question is, that how do i fix it if i think it was the first reason u said "AOL messes up the TCP/IP connections, " because i do have the latest versions of ad aware and spybot... ? thanks.

i've had this problem for a while already, there are certain sites that the internet explorer or the internet from my provider both won't let me open.. it just tells me HTTP 400 - Bad Request and i checked on the internet options of the IE to see if it had the restricted sites and there were none on there... how can i open those pages??? but thats not the only problem i have... this has happened in the last few days around the time when i fixed my MSPaint program, because i was having a problem w/ it, and i found a solution by deleting the registry and it would fix like that by the time i opened the program again it'd recreate its registry keys.. but i dont know if thats what has affected my internet because sometimes after a little bit of time that i've been online (dial up) it kind of loses my connection but it doesnt disconnect me, it just won't let me open any page and just says, on the navigation bar:something like i'm not exactly sure if this is exactly it, resC:/windows/system/shdocc.dll/nav (and it had something after it...) and i was wondering if that was affected by the time i deleted the registry for the paint program and why is it affecting my internet and how can i fix it?.. thanks for the help.!!!
