  1. I am a newbie to linux and I have just installed SuSE 9.1 pro and when I try to start the battery charge applet from the panel it gives an error about acpid.socket not available. (if I type "powersave -b" in gnome console, powersave reports the battery status correctly) However, from what I read online, acpid is included in/replaced by powersave, and in KDE, kpowersave works fine. I was just wondering if anyone can help me with this problem. Thanks in advance.
