I run Windows XP Professional with FTP ServU 5.0 (5.0.0.4), I am registered and yes I did pay for it. I have a Linksys Network Everywhere 4 Port DSL/Cable Router Model NR041. I have a problem where FTP transfers to me are only 80-150kb/sec when the transfers are coming to me from 100mbit+ sites. I have a 4.0mbit Downstream and I KNOW I download faster than 350kb/sec. My Router is set so my DMZ Host is this pc's LAN Address and I have port forwarding enabled as follows: External Port: 18000, Protocol TCP, Internal Port 18000, and the IP to forward to is the same as the DMZ Host. I also have port range port forwarding enabled as follows: External Port 50000 to 50100 Protocol TCP AND UDP and the IP to forward to is the same as the DMZ Host. In FTP ServU I have the Port set to 18000, I set the WAN IP to activate Passive mode transfers, and set the passive port range to 50000-50100.
I don't understand why I'm getting such slow transfer speeds from site to site transfers [FXP]. I KNOW that its not the site. Most of the time no one can connect to me in passive mode, instead the ServU issues port commands instead of passive commands and the transfer rate is 80kb/sec. I'm perplexed, any ideas?
This may have something to do with it too, but I'm unsure. I also have AOL [America Online] and I can only get transfers at the same rate on it too. 80-150kb/sec. If I am downloading from MOST websites my rate is ~375kb/sec. I think it has to do with the router but I'm not sure, I thought I had it all set up right.
Thanks,
