    Deletion of old user folder

Thanks zen, that did the trick. Bloody XP Simple Filesharing didn't let me see the specific attributes. Doh! I can now clear out a couple of gig from my HD Thanks to all.

    Deletion of old user folder

Tried seom of these before I posted the message and tried the additional software and none of that works either. I think the issue is that I'm trying to remove a directory rather than a file. I can't even enter the directory to see the files in the first place. Any other suggestions?
  3. I recently reinstalled WinXP over an older install and found that my old user directory under 'Documents and Settings' was till there after the rebuild. Problem is I can no longer open/explore/delete this directory and I want to get rid of it. I'm assuming the security rights associated with it from the old install of XP are still tied to the dir and therefore with the new install, I don't have the rights required to remove the directory. Any pointers?
