hello, just joined the forum so be nice to me ok i know there is probelly alot cheaper or easyer way of doing solving this problem. but i really want it sorted in a certain way but i cant find hardware for it.. hoping u can help i basically want a Wireless [Cat5-E] Cable! [dont laugh] i want a Wireless Reserver/Sender To plug into standard Hub port i got my network set up as: Hub = standard 10/100 8 port networking hub [//server/] connected to USB modem and connected to Hub [//tich/] connected to Hub [//ripper/] connected to Hub -- i want [//lappy/] connected to USB or PCMCIA Wireless Reserver/Sender nothing Fancy.. just want 1 to go into Hub, 1 to go into Laptop no Router built in, no Firewall, no Multi Reservers. just 1to1 set.. to go into Standard port hub one end and 1 to go into PCMCIA or USB anyone know where i can get them as my local computer shops look at me and are like "why not just get a total wireless netowrk" they dont understand that i dont want it, i like the way my network is set up, i just want 1 wireless device so i can use laptop in the garden or something.. sorry to just drone on!

    Complicated Network - Help

i cant use a router as my ISP needs persific software my server is MY machine as well, i like having perfect control over that is happening on the net and not have to settle with what ever little control the router will give me. this way i can limit bandwidth to each machine so i only have to share 5% of my bandwidth with each machine so i get a nice 85% to myself. i have yet to find a wireless router that can do that alone, let alone hold the software for my isp and this is why i wanted a PURE 1 to 1 not a wireless Router.. so ONLY the 1 wireless device on the lappy can talk to my wireless device on the Hub.. so noone can hack it. plus anyway, the people around me dont even know what the right button click does on a mouse, let alone hack a wireless network.
