BTW, you are all wrong! No-one should have a favourite Star Wars movie-because they aren't that good!!!(Yes I am including the 'originals'!) Episodes 1 & 2 had many critics, and rightly so... The storylines were, imo, fairly weak, a majority of the characters are obnoxious and poorly written, many scenes are cheesy(Yes Lucas can write okay, but NOT direct very well) and overall, the films are not really worthy of their box-office status. Having said that, I still feel they are decent enough films and some of the fight scenes are truly great. HOWEVER, Episodes 4, 5, & 6 were just the same! The cheesy characters and scenes, the downright shameful continuity errors and most of all-Chewbacca! (Please don't get me started on that damn Wookie!) Although, as I mentioned above, these are still credible films and worth a watch every now and then. The Following is Fact Star Wars 4, 5 & 6 were last generations LOTR trilogy. In years to come, many will still rave about the LOTR trilogy but fail to see that the 'films aren't actually that great(Tolkiens writing is a masterclass though-much like Lucas' original scripts were better). Then later, The Hobbit will come out (a prequel just like Eps 1 &2) and the critics will hate it because it won't have the same impact as the original trilogy. This will mirror the exact reaction of the Star Wars films. Sorry to rant but I just had to get my point across. P.S Has anyone else noticed that the acronym for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith is; STAR WARS ROTS

There may be a way to silence this beep although to be honest I am not sure how... The beep is caused by too many keys being pressed at one time, so not all of the keys are 'registered' as being pressed(I dare say that if you held down all four arrow keys you would get the same beep as this is sending information that conflicts and contradicts itself-cant move forward and backward at the same time etc.) Some games may accept different combinations of keys than others so there is some variety in this. Originally posted by ConQueso Quote: Let's say I'll be holding down walk backward, walk left, crouch, and run/fast move all at once It is possible that this game doesn't allow you to crouch(probably makes you move slower) and run/move fast at the same time. I would imagine that a USB keyboard would do the same thing but keyboards aren't really my bag, so I can't give you a definitive answer for that one.

Try UT2004 if UT2003 is that much hassle...

Sorry that came out, wrong (I'm not implying that these forums are immuture). What I meant was that it's a good thing to bring up a serious world issue even when it isn't related to Windows/PC's etc.

Great post there APK, that is great news. Glad to see that kind of mature thread even in forums like these.

Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow: Anyone go see it yet?
Malaris replied to thatsteveguy's topic in Slack Space
Yeh all the games and films in Japan were called Biohazard, however they are still called RE here in the UK. (No idea about the rest of the world) Anyways, I'm a bit doubtful about seeing this film-shot entirely in front of a blue screen? Sounds a lil bit dodgy to me..... -
Is it possible for an ISP's sever to be infected with a worm? Or worse still the ISP to deliberately send a worm/virus? For the purpose of this post I will name my ISP 'AAA' . Quite a while ago when I hardly used the internet I signed up for a 'pay-as-you-go' internet service, as soon as I set this up my PC was infected with a variation of the W32.Blaster.Worm. My PAYG internet was a set charge per minute but had an extra cost everytime you connected-as this worm causes one to continually loose a connection to the internet I seriously wondered if 'AAA' might be sending this worm deliberately everytime I installed the relevant software and set-up my internet account with them. This worm will cause absolutely no trouble to anyone who knows how to combat it but to the people with limited knowledge in this field it could have been a way for 'AAA' to screw people out of money for reconnection charges or for an 'AAA' technician to be called out. I soon used FixBlast on the bugger and that was that. However when I upgraded to broadband from the same ISP guess what happened? Yep, you guessed it the worm came back. Yet again I used FixBlast however, as broadband is a monthly service and requires no connection charge, I now doubted if this worm was deliberate-does this mean that my ISP 'AAA' could have a worm in their master server and not know about it? Is this possible or was my first theory correct? For anyone who is having trouble with this worm (even though it is an old worm now) the relevant program to remove it can be found here; http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FixBlast.exe

Can you not forward all the messages in your inbox to your new address, then open them on your XP PC?

I have BT Broadband Basic and my homepage is www.wanadoo.co.uk. No idea why....

Your best bet would be to make sure you areb't using any BT Openworld programs and then get onto BT explaining that you no longer use their BT Openworld service and could they terminate the contract. However, if the previous contract had a minimum term (EG 12 months) you may have to continue paying until this contract term is fulfilled. Either way I would contact BT asap if i were you.

Recommend any programs I could substitue for IE? Where can I get them? (I don't seem to have any problems with IE but everyone else seems to hate it)

I finally took some of these IQ tests that keep popping up everywhere. My scores (from 4 tests) ranged from 128-134. Just wondered if any of you guys know your IQ (judging by some of the people I know in these forums you will probably all blow my measly score out of the water!)

I also forgot to mention that during the installation process, it asked me to remove my firewall and turn off all Anti-Virus software until I was told to reactivate them and the instalation was complete. I am well aware that this is more than likely so they can infect me with spyware (yes I actually read EULA's!) however could it also be so they can send a worm-I am very suspicious about this....

The first thing to try is right-click the game .exe and then open properties. Change the compatability tab to win 95/98. If this doesn't solve it post here again.

How many user acoounts do you have, how many are admin, guest etc. Can you describe EXACTLY what the screen looks like, what you are able to do/not do etc.

I haven't tried the Gangsters crack myself but it's your decision whether you want to try this or not. http://www.spekounko.com/messuge/games/g.html I am currently working to find a fix or work-around for this problem of running Gangsters on XP. I'll keep you posted if I make any breakthroughs.

Heh, I've got a 576k DSL connection and I love it. Only not too long ago I was plodding around with my old 56.6k dial-up and the difference is quite staggering. I now that DSL isn't exactly top of the line as far as internet connections are concerned but it does everything I need it to do so I am happy. Sorry I don't have more to sya I just thought I'd share my opinion with everyone that the internet really IS a revolution and already HAS changed the world (unfortunatelya majority of that is only the western world at the moment but that's a different issue for a different day). P.S. Anyone remember 14.4k connections? 8)

Readme's are called that for a reason-can you guess why? It amazes me the amount of people I know who see a 'Readme' as an unnecessary file and disregard it completely. Personally, after every installation or download I always check the 'View Readme' box for any known glitches/errors, supprot websites, tips/hints and even just basic controls or an interface tutorial. Every problem I have, the first stop is the Readme, followed by any official website and then lastly (but not least!) I try unofficial forums and fixes (how I ended up here). I would confidently say that around 50% of the time Readme's can solve my problem or give me any information I need. (Sure 50% doesn't sound a great deal but they aren't actually troubleshooters) So everyone always remember this; Readme's are top!

Aaaah Poirot! I may only be 16 but I remember Poirot! While these grey cells may way be little, there sure are many people in this forum with a lot of them! Unfortunately my collection are still growing as far as most of the issues in these forums are concerned(but everyone was new once right?). *WARNING* Tangent Imminent *WARNING* What ever happened to David Suchet-haven't seen him on TV/movies for quite a while... (Could anyone else have played Poirot as well, other than him?)
