Which codec did you download? I'm having a similar problem because in my Windows XP Pro I can't even see the chocobos running in the first screen, nor sound is heard. Then I click the mouse button and it appears the screen in which I choose new game or save game. I choose new and nothing else happens, just black screen... It doesn't lock, though, I can quit via Ctrl-q. If anyone else can help us, pleeezzzz Regards!
