While trying to install 2000/XP the installation wants at least 128MB of RAM, it is the only way that you can install 2000/XP. If you really have to run XP on 32MB of RAM then the only way you would be able to install 2000/XP is if you can borrow the other 96MB RAM from a friend or something for the installation. I would honestly suggest you to rather install Win98 than 2000/XP, 2000/XP is already extremely slow on 128MB RAM.

I had that problem on an old laptop of one of my friends, whenever he tried to copy bigger files he would get that error and it would stop. I cant remember exactly what the problem was, it was something about the HDD loosing connection, I remember his ext. HDD box had a light on it, and whenever this light went orange for more than 3 seconds he would get that error. Sometimes it worked, but only if we copied one file at a time. I cant remember if he ever got that problem solved, he moved to Cape Town and I moved to Germany, but I will ask him and let you know what he did.

Oh, ok, you neet ethernet for cable, I thought it works different, but anyway, if you have 2 ethernet cards it will work. You can set up on of them on the modem, then you can set the other one up on the router, make sure that you have IP forwarding enabled, otherwise the 2 ethernet cards wont be able to see each other. Then you can do the ICS setup.

I'm also in the dark here, but the only thing I can think of now is that there is something local to your 3 PC's that the router dont like, so, let your friend with the laptop connect through your router like your PC would and see if it works, if it does then we know its something local to your PC, if it dont work then its something with the router. If the problem is something with the router then try to use the router as a Hub/Switch, set your PC up derictly on the Modem then from their to the router then to the other 2 PC's and set up ICS (internet connection sharing), then your PC that is connected to the modem accesses the internet and the other 2 through your PC via the modem, then see if those 2 PC's can access those sites

If you right click on the desktop and click "properties" you will see a window pop up, click the tab "settings", there is where you should see the "standard". From there you need to click the "Advanced" button and on the next window click your cards "tab" at the top, like mine is "GeForce FX 5900", there you should "display mode", select sigle display from there

can you ping the computer in question? Try to ping the IP and computername.

How did you check the CD-ROM? Did you try another one? I've had that problem before with a couple of games, once it was my CD-ROM, the other time it was cause of the CD being a little bit dirty or scratched and then my CD-ROM is just too full of Sh!t to read it but others could. Try cleaning the CD, if it dont work try another CD-ROM. PS: To find out if its a dirty CD, try to copy the file manually that it complains about during intallation, just copy it to the desktop, you'll se the time changing to something like 100 minutes and higher and then it'll stop with an error. Any ideas? With admin rights you can manage any computer/server from any computer/server, as long as you are logged on with an administrative account. You can edit someones registry, computer management and so on. You can also use remote desktop to connect to the server from any PC or from the server to any PC with XP. You also get software to do that like "Remote Admin", "Dameware" etc. Otherwise, if you want you can ask the user to send you a remote help request from the "help and support" if you both are running XP.

Hi, Everyone knows that they should not bother when APK is on a roll:) he always fixes a problem. Personaly, I would not use WinME, I dont like it at all, if I had to have a older OS to run dual boot with 2000/XP I would use 98SE, I still think its better than WinME. I actually know of some Service Providers (I wont give any names) that refuse to even do a line test if you have "WinME" or "XP Home"

With some routers you can manually save configurations on the PC, with the routing tables I'm not too sure if it save to the local PC, ask your frind with the laptop to connect through the router, you know, just for in case I am wrong about the routing table:) I remember when I tried resetting my router it was pretty difficult, I thought I reset it a couple of time before I realized it didn't work, then I eventually got it done properly and then I flashed it with the latest firmware.

Hi, There is a way to reset it, but I cant remember exactly how to do it, but I will have a look quick and let you know, but for now you can right click on the file you want to download and select "Save Target As", then you should be able to save it. Another thing you could try if I take to long to reply is to open your internet properties by click on "tools" > "internet options", click on the "advanced tab" and then click the "reset to defaults" button at the bottom.

Sorry, but I'm a bit slow when it comes to the Microsoft Help thingy, I never use it. Have you tried doing a Microsoft Update? I do it pretty often to get the fixes, cause, as you know, they aren't perfect

If you bought the wheel only 6 months ago it should have Windows 2000 and XP drivers on the CD. If not, you should be able to get updated drivers for it, give me the full name of the wheel and I'll help you look for drivers.
