Thanks for your reply. I was able to find this page which suggests that the problem is cause by the Fedora Core Release 1's inability to partition and format some hard drives. However, after using SuSe 9.0 to partition and format the drive and Tom's Linux on a floppy to remove the content of the partitions, I once again tried to install Fedora and received the same error when I got to the Firewall page. Even though I had told the installer not to format any of the partitions.
I then tried to install Fedora using the text mode installer. I was able to partiton and format the drive and complete the install.
In case anyone else runs across this problem with Fedora Core 1, try using the text installer to complete the install.
