  1. hello.. first time searching for help.. i m hoping you expert out there can help me with a really weird problem.. basically i m trying to search the answer for a friend. this is the problem.. he has SBC DSL.. from the dsl modem connected to the computer.. he automatically has internet connection.. just double click on the "e" and he can surf the net and check his yahoo email without any trouble.. edit account profile or change password without any trouble, the strange thing is.. he doesnt have to login with sbc.. (everything is clear.. the cache.. the password..etc.). Now this is where thing gets really strange.. if the router (netgear wireless WGR 614) is connected from modem to router then to his computer.. he can surf the net.. log into yahoo but not able to read mails from yahoo email account, however.. he can read his mail with outlook express. with the computer connected to the router.. internet connection is fine, but if he goes to yahoo to check his mail.. it doesnt work.. he can log in to his yahoo acount.. but he cant edit anything in the account or check is mail.. everytime he clicks on one of his mail or account profile.. an error message pops up.. saying there is no internet connect. i've tried it with my own yahoo mail. again..i was able to login.. but cant read my mail.. same error message pops up.. however i was able to check my msn and lycos mail without any trouble. everything was working fine.. but it's just that he cant check mails from yahoo.. but able to login into the account. so.. i thought.. maybe it's the router's problem. i took the router home and test it myself.. the router is working fine.. was able to read his and my yahoo mails with any problem.. i took the router to another friends' house.. test the router again.. no problem..working fine.. the router will not work with his computer at his house.. so.. my question is.. could it be the router or his computer....??? if it's his computer then, why would it work when it doesnt go thru a router.. router works fine when i test it at my house.. could it be the SBC DSL line..?? he has a P4 3.0g running WinXP.. same spec as my system. we tried first with winxp sp1 .. doesnt work..then upgrade it to sp2.. still didnt' work.. called sbc dsl support.. they couldnt figure out what's wrong with it. Any helps.....?? any info is greatly appreciated.. smoke
