any1? plz help!

I installed the SIms 2 on my computer yesterday, and tried to play it, but up came this warning: "Failed to find any Directx 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a Direct X 9.0c graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate." Please help me as i am very eager to get on and play the game!!!! Thanx
