I am using a CCD-TR86 sony handycam to record video of me and my friends for a project and ALL I WANT TO DO IS GET THE F%$&*# VIDEO ONTO MY COMPUTER. Everywhere i go they tell me something different and every program i either buy or download says "allows you to capture any video format and convert it to AVI or MPEG.... all you need our program." Nothing worked. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG HERE. I have spent almost 300$ out of my own pocket at every electronic store there is for some program or anything that will let me do this. Ulead Video Studio 7 which i bought with some external box that allows me to plug my camera into the computer seems to be my most hopeful investment. But when i click to capture video it tells me i dont have a driver installed that allows me to do that. OH GOODIE. I talked to someone at office depot and they said i need to go on Sony.com and download a driver for my camcorder. IF THERE ARE DRIVERS ON SONY.COM THEN THEY ARE TRYING TO HIDE THEM FROM ME. Also when i use Windows movie maker it tells me i dont have a video device to record with. I dont even have the slightest clue of what else to do.. can someone please please help me here, any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
I am using Video Studio 7, windows XP, CCD-TR86 handycam camcorder, an ADS DVD eXpress box that allows me to plug in my camcorder through USB.
