NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X <-- Heres my graphic card how do I change the graphic settings, A couple people have given me this advice but i don't know how?

I just got the sims game yesterday and went to try it out, The game worked fine untile you get into a neighborhood! Their are lines coming off of the houses and lines coming from the trees, Sometimes just big black lines across the screen, I have a windows XP and a Nvidia G4 TI42QO This meets the requierments right?
