I am trying to add some software to my 10.1 community installation and would like some information as to how to increase the size of the fonts. The type size can't be any bigger than 3 point the way it is currently displayed and I am too old to read 3 point type. Help! If you can help I am at this moment stumped! I have finally (after 3 weeks) gotten Mandrake 10.1 community installed and working. First question: how do I increase the size of the type in open office for "file" "edit" "view" "insert" etc? The rest of the program works OK but I need a magnifying glass to read the selections. Second question: with this distro I got 5 cd's, it only used 2 for the install, what are the others for? Third question: do I have to go to "root" in order to shut the machine off? I know about "halt", does it work for user as well? As complicated as this is, it's no wonder Bill Gates is rich!

I am working from purchased cd's from linuxcd.org TO Danleff The system is a homebuilt desktop with a Gigabyte GA-7vaxp board kt400 series. I have only a Sony cdrw drive and I set the bios to boot from that drive. HELP and THANKS!!!!

Hi, New (attempted new anyway) linux user. I have a 1,800 AMD machine with a 1/2 gig of memory, cd with burner, floppy, keyboard and mouse and a new 40 gig hd. When I put the first disc of the Mandrake 10.1 Community program that I got from linuxcd.com it starts to load than tells me that there is a "kernel panic - fatal exception in interrupt handler - not syncing". The kernel version is 2.6.8.1 Any ideas on how I can solve this? I am using a 2nd machine to post this. Thanks for any ideas offered.
