Hello, I recently got the sims 2 and my sister got a computer (pre-owned). She wants the sims 2 installed on it and i think her hard drive is partitioned. I cant open the computer to check if there are two drives because i cant get it opened Is there any way to check if the drive is partitioned that doesn't involve a crowbar?

yeah, but im morbidly against microsoft. If it weren't for windows being the most used os, with all the best games and apps for it, id be using linux. One fun thing i heard of on the xbox, is installing linux and sending pics of it to microsoft

I'm with Waffler on this one. Don't get me wrong, give me a choice between console or PC and i will almost always choose PC, but if you want a machine for gaming ONLY, that never needs updates or extra hardware (excluding hard drives, microphones etc for ps2, xbox etc) and doesnt need new video cards, memory, etc, you'd want a console. There are no compatibility problems with OS's, no different loading speeds (unless you have a faster model, modded or damaged console), no difference in graphics, blah blah blah. I still love PC, but im also partial to gamecube and PS2. In my opinion, microsoft and its XBOX can rot in hell. any really good games they make they will release on PC (thank you God for halo for PC!!!!). If XBOX was the only entertainment left on earth i wouldn't play it. I've played it a couple of times, hate the controller layout, and they BLOODY WELL STOLE MUNCH'S ODDYSEE FROM SONY!!! I still have old playstation mags that had previews for it! everyone is entitled to their opinion. mine is that xbox sux. [Edited by ddematos on 2004-11-17 03:47:33]

Ok, im new to this, so please forgive any mistakes I make and correct them. #1. If you know that you have a compatible video card, etc, then go on. if not, buy one. If you are unsure, check the system requirements here #2. If you get the digital signing error, try a few of the solutions here. Try solution 2 first. if that doesnt fix it, try 1 and 3 as well. If all else fails try all of them. If afterwards directx doesnt install during sims2 installation, keep reading. #3. I quote from thesims2.com, Quote: I get a 'GETSETUP' or other DirectX error during installation. Question I get a 'GETSETUP' or other DirectX error during installation. Answer This error is usually caused by a faulty installation of DirectX. First, make sure your disk is in the drive. Afterwards follow these steps. 1. Open My Computer. 2. Right click on the Sims2 icon and choose Open. 3. Double-click on the DirectX folder. 4. Right-click on the DSETUP.dll file and choose Copy. 5. Close this window. 6. Open My Computer again. 7. This time, open your C: drive (usually called Local Disk). 8. Now open the WINDOWS folder. 9. Open the SYSTEM32 folder. 10. Right-click on an empty space in the folder and choose Paste. 11. Now try running the installation again. If the issue persists you will need to reinstall DirectX. You can get this program either off the disk, or from Microsoft's website. To use the DirectX installer on the disk: 1. Open My Computer. 2. Right-click on the Sims2 icon and choose Open. 3. Open the DirectX folder. 4. Double-click on the dxsetup icon. This will install DirectX 9.0c on your system. If you would like to install DirectX directly from Microsoft: Go to www.microsoft.com DirectX is available on the Downloads page. If all else fails, you have permission from me to punch bill gates Oh, and I had the digital signing error and i fixed it like this.
