It is 2004 Samsung Syncmaster (Cant remember model number, not in my room) 19" Flatscreen (not flatpanel) The board is supposed to be plug and play but the monitor came with driver cd. I will try booting with that in the drive when i get home.

hehe, i just returned a higher powered psu to best buy a few days ago. i may go buy another and return it again if that doesnt help. i've tried unplugging and reseating everything and im out of ideas. though the psu ran all the same things before just on a different mobo.
-
Here is a link to the mobo: http://usa.aopen.com/products/mb/s661GXm-U.htm Sorry I didn't include all info, I was late for work But im at work now so I can do this right. System Specs: Intel Celeron 2.8 Ghz (socket 478) 1 GB SuperTalent PC2700 (2 x 512MB) (Could be the problem? I was told by multiple people, that my pc 2700 would run in the pc 3200 slots, just at 2700 speed) 160 GB Western Digital 7200rpm HDD Nvidia GeForce MX4000 128MB PCI slot vid card. I can get others to try if needed, but the card was working just fine on the other mobo. Lite-On 52x DVD-Rom Lite-On 48x CD-RW Antec 400watt PSU And the above mentioned mobo Tomorrow I am going to find a stick of 3200 and give that a shot if I cant get it taken care of tonight.

but still we have the big problem here, nothing comes up on my monitor I tried a PCI video card, but first i tried the onboard. I am good with bios settings and stuff for installing video cards, that was my first post on this site and has led me back every day since! But the point is, no video is showing up at all, like my monitor is in sleep mode, so its tough to get into the bios any clue? ive built a couple pcs but they all booted up without hitches so this is new to me. Thanks!

wait timeout i should slap myself, but the motherboard manual was not in the box and there doesn't seem to be one to download on the website, but... it also didnt come with a driver cd! If i download the drivers and burn them onto a cd on a friends pc, do i just put the cd in the drive and boot up?

Any others in the 50-60 dollar range?

Thanks for the opinion, I've heard mixed things about the 6600LE edition of the 6600 line. Two different friends had them crap out within a couple months, with very light overclocking and sufficient case cooling. But I've still read reviews saying its a great card for the price.

Very true, when I first found this site, looking to fix a problem I laugh at now, I had very very little computer knowledge. But now after reading posts everyday and looking at reviews and news and simply reading about computer stuff on the internet, I have built a few of my own PC's and helped countless friends and family members fix problems, without any formal computer teaching. Like Relic said, you've gotta start somewhere 8)

You would probably know if you were using a no-cd file to run the game. Unless someone else installed the game on your computer and downloaded the crack files. If that is the case, use the cd to play and have the person delete the crack files for you and it should fix the problem. Other than that, all i can think of would be to reinstall the game, but you dont want to lose your house and info.
-
If you answer my question in the response I gave, I can be of further assistance. I asked if you were using a no-cd.exe to run the game. Yes? or No? And again recall that I gave an honest attempt to help you once already, so don't get an attitude with your response and lose all chance of me taking time to help solve your problem.

Did you run the scan in safe-mode? Did you delete/reset these in the registry? I just installed an Aopen socket 478 board into my project pc that i put a bunch of old, but not useless parts into. I was very surprised with the quality of the packaging and the board itself. I have a PC Chips board that is very thin and flimsy, but haven't had any hardware problems with it, other than one of the three pin fan connectors shorts out. But a friend of mine has also been very impressed with the value and quality of ASRock boards. Just a little firsthand experience. No matter what board you go with, it may still come with a defect or something wrong, but AsRock and Aopen boards have proven, for my friends and I atleast, to be very solid boards and a good buy.

here it is for 45 bucks

i could be interested in the geforce 5500 video card, but they are on froogle for 50 bucks or so, so price would have to be lowered

A couple good sites to find overall great prices are: www.tigerdirect.com and www.newegg.com What i like to do is, put all parts that you need in the shopping cart and add the shipping, then build the same pc again on the other site and see who is cheaper overall. Shipping is usually around 40 dollars so don't forget about that. Here is a link to a good build-it-yourself guide: Guide

Are you playing in windows 95 compatibility mode? Right click on desktop icon Go to Properties Click Compatibility tab on top Check box to 'run this program in compatibility mode for...' and choose win95.

I have a problem here. When i press the power button on my computer the cpu fan spins half a rotation and nothing turns on, not my led lighted fans or cold cathode light. My pc worked fine this morning and I am not sure what is going on. All cables are secure and nothing is out of place. I tried unplugging anything i didnt need to boot up and it still rotates a half turn and nothing turns on. My pc has been running great for 2 years and never is left on for extended periods of time. Is it my power supply that is messed up? It is only a 250 watt one, but running a program tells me that all my voltages are within 5% which is ideal. But now it wont turn on and im not sure why. Let me know if you guys think it is a psu before i buy a new one! I've had problems returning things at best buy and it is the only store around where i live that could have a psu to buy in a box. Thanks! response asap would be great, i have a raid tonight

yeah they will probably have a cheap one, if it doesnt work just return it. they shouldnt hassle you.

I have the same modem at home and for some reason it does say it is possible to do ethernet and usb at the same time, but I've contacted Motorola and they said it is NOT possible to do so. Can find a cheap Linksis/Netgear/D-Link router on the internet somewhere, and that will solve your problem. try: www.ecost.com www.buy.com they often have good deals on home routers.

Have you tried both PS2 and USB keyboards? If so, have you tried the USB in more than one USB slot? Possible quick, easy fix.

I have experienced similar problems, but i was using a no-cd .exe crack. i used the cd and replaced the nocd.exe files with the ones from the original install, and it worked like a charm. though i did have to dig around and put my cd in each time i wanted to play. if you arent using a nocd crack then i have no idea what is going on!
