I was absolutely blown over to FINALLY find someone else who has played this game. I've been playing it since I was sent the demo cd back in the day, ('96 or '97), it was sad, I didn't even have a computer fast enough to play it and I had to have a friend load it. But I've been and avid fan ever since.
I had a couple things to add:
I did both ways, I first installed on my Win98 SE and then copied the files and did the reg edit. That worked fine, except I had no music. SO, I redid it, copying all the files directly from the CD and then doing the reg. code and putting in the sound files. Same, no music. Anyone else?
However, One thing I will mention, I noticed the game would not exit correctly for me, I fixed this by going to the JOCKEY.exe file and running it in Win95 compatibility mode. Took care of that.
However, I only still have two remaining problems. I cannot get the music to play, and everytime I put the cd in, it starts the installer and I have to cancel out (could this be because I installed it in a different location that the default location (program file\segasoft\rocketjockey etc). Both are not big deals, and I will deal with it, I just wanted to post in case someone had a solution, or so someone knew they weren't the only one.
Most of all, I wanted to thank everyone for getting this to work. I know I use the internet and different forums so much to get these kinds of questions answered, but don't have the opportunity to thank the people who put in the time and man-power to get it done. Thanks so much. The multlayer game is sweet... I was so glad it worked on XP so I could try it out!
Anyway, thanks again everyone. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one still playing it!
