Install Mandrake Linux on External USB Hard drive

This isn't exactly what you want, but it's a start: http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library-combined/l-fireboot.html It's about installing Gentoo to an external firewire drive. It covers some USB2.0 stuff though, and if you can install Gentoo, mandrake should be easy. Good luck!
