If you mean from the task area then you can get it back. Control panel then Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices then Sounds and Audio Devices Place a checkmark in the box that says Place volume control in taskbar.

Sounds like you may have shutdown while the system was still configuring so some services are stuck at disabled. Compare your services to the list at the link below. Default XP Services

Direct X Happy Uninstall may do the trick for you.

OEM computer so any updates will need to come from HP or your copy of XP may not work anymore if you need to reinstall. You do not have an IRQ conflict that I can see from the picture as if you did you would have yellow exclamation marks in device manager. You can not just uninstall devices in device manager without either physically removing the devices as well or disabling them in the bios. Reason is they will just return on the next reboot of the computer. Sounds like you need the driver for that USB adapter and if you can post up the manufacturer name and model number of it then we might be able to find the driver you need.

Try a repair install of XP before starting over from scratch. CLICK then use method 2.

If you have HLDS in the DMZ zone then your server is probably working. Have you set the region to 255 in your server.cfg and tried different filters in the server browser? You could try placing the complete IP of your server into favorites of the server browser and see if it appears when you do. If it does then your server is running just fine. Maybe the region is set wrong or it is not showing on the list but is running fine. The latter happens sometimes. Have you looked around the dedicated server forums at Steam? Could try going to Serverspy and do a search for your server and if it is listed in serverspy then server is ok. CLICK Place a checkmark in server then type in the name of your server and search.
