What I normally do is install Steam then after I log in shut down Steam. When Steam is shut down I then run the back-ups to install all my games. Never has asked me for a key.

American Zombie replied to jeffrychuck1161's topic in Everything New Technology
You can also go into device manager > network adapter > properties > power management tab > uncheck "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby". -
You will need to contact Dell. Clear Bios Password

Try running system file checker. Start > Run > sfc /scannow -

If this is an OEM version of the card that came with the computer then you might want to make sure you are running the drivers from Dell and not the retail drivers from Creative. What you could do is uninstall the creative drivers then go to Windows update as the Dell drivers may appear in the hardware updates after you scan your system. -

First let's try to see the error that causes the BSOD. Bring up system properties by doing either one of these: Windows key + pause/break Start > Run > sysdm.cpl Once you have system properties on your screen, click on the advanced tab then under "Startup and recovery" click on the Setting button. Under "System Failure" uncheck the box in front of "Automatically restart" then apply your changes. Now when you get the BSOD you will see an error message which can help pinpoint why the BSOD happened. -
I always thought that fax only worked with dial up modems as they have to dial the other fax machines number. Anyway, found this: Quote: The WinFax PRO family of products do not support DSL, ADSL or high-speed cable modem connections.

Try cleaning your discs and maybe the drive too. -
Your model is not listed here but perhaps one of the others is similar so take a look at them. http://www.irisvista.com/

http://www.ntcompatible.com/2xCherries_c11577.html I am going to assume since it does not work on 2000 or XP it will not work on media edition.

You may be able to get the iso or all the files off the disk with IsoBuster. Then burn another disk with Nero or some other burning software. http://www.isobuster.com/

Are those previous Ghost backups still on the smaller drive? Maybe there is not enough space left for the backup.

No Logon Icon At Windows XP "Welcome" Screen

Try pushing ctrl-alt-del twice. -
Sounds like the Accessibility "StickyKeys". I always go into control panel and set all Accessibility Options to not use the shortcuts. Go into control panel > Accessibility Options > Accessibility Options then untick all the boxes for Stickykeys, FilterKeys, ToggleKeys, etc. I untick them all for keyboard, sound, display, etc. as I do not need Accessibility Options.

need help connecting to the internet
American Zombie replied to bchilly's topic in Everything New Technology
Broadband as in DSL or cable? Most cable ISP's will only allow one MAC address at a time so you would need to reboot the modem to change PC. To have both PC at the same time you would need a router. -
Just format the drive and it will be gone.

new mobo, cpu, memory, XP Pro w/SP2 will not install nor repair
American Zombie replied to Amy's topic in Hardware
Having upgraded 100's of boards and swapped out about the same amount of drives as well as other hardware I only have this to say. I would never follow the advice on that site. You may not have noticed but if using those hacks you are putting many Intel entries into your registry on an AMD board. That board has onboard graphics and some also had an optional AGP slot. You have to set the bios to whatever you are using. Init Display First This item specifies which VGA card is your primary graphics adapter. Settings: PCI Slot and AGP PCI if using onboard graphics and AGP if using a card in the AGP slot if your board has one. You can also try Booting into safe mode and see if the video comes up as XP will use the VGAsave driver. -
Uninstall beta 2 as beta 3 is out now. Internet Explorer 7 beta 3
-
Go into bios > advanced > chipset Change "Primary Graphics Adapter" from PCI to AGP.
