Heres a game from a few years back, Mobile Forces. I wonder if anyone could shed some light on this. When the company that made the game, Rage, closed down, the main master server for the ingame browser went with it. A patch for this was made a year back that points the browser to a new server, but this server was closed too. The direct-connect IP address feature doesnt seem to work either, and any game I host doesnt show up in the GameSpy lobby for the game. I know its not a firewall problem, but what could it be? If anyone has any information on this or knows how to host a game properly, let me know. Appreciated, Jared Ghioto JayRd7

I'm just curious as to why it would work fine for a few months then all of a sudden screw up...will switching the jumpers to basic master/slave erase the data on the disks? thanks, Jared JayRd7

Hello, I recently gutted my sisters old computer for her recently purchased Fujitsu MPG3409AT 40 GB hard drive. I put it in making sure I had the correct IDE cables, and making sure that the harddrive jumper was set to "Cable Select," as my other one was. (I made the Fujitsu the slave drive.) I booted up and went into BIOS and it read the drive fine, and the computer booted fine and the drive seemed to have configurd itself, because it acts normal and fine just like my C drive does. Last week, though, I booted up and my computer wouldnt get past the Windows XP loading screen with the bar that goes back and forth, it just sat there with the harddrive light on. I booted into Safe Mode and disabled the Fujitsu in Device Manager, because I trouble shooted every thing else and figured this had to be the problem. I was right, because the computer booted fine with it disabled, but goes haywire when i enable it, and freezes up when I enable it in regular mode. I want to know hwy it would work in harmony with my computer fine for 4 months and then all of a sudden start doing this. Corrupt driver perhaps? I ran through a WinXP recovery reinstallation but the drive was still causing problems. What do you recommend, and where can I find a new driver for the harddrive if this is the problem? Thanks, Jared. System Specs: Dell Dimension 4500 640 MB RAM 1.8 Ghz P4 Processor 256 MB Nvidia 6200 Gfx Card Western Digital Caviar WDC 20 GB HardDrive (set as master) Fujitsu MPG3409AT (set as slave)

Hello, I am having a problem with my Graphics Card. It is a Nvidia Ge Force2 Mx/Mx 400 64 mb AGP 4x. When I got the card it didnt come with a driver, so Microsoft used its old default one to run it. I went to Nvidia to download the latest driver. I got the driver and it was compatible with my card. It ran my card great in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, but in Combat FS 2 and Serious Sam TSE, it totally garbled and mangled the graphics. I am forced to roll back driver, but I like the new one because it runs FS so well, and it has a nice interface. What should I do? Full System Specs: Dell Dimension 4500 @ 1.8 Ghz P4. 640 Mb RAM, Nvidia GeForce 2 Mx/MX 400 64 mb AGP 4x. Monitor: Dell E551c CRT. P.S. The old card I had before this was an ATI Rage 128 ultra 32mb card. It ran all my games, not fast certainly but at least it didnt mangle my graphics. **I have the latest version of DirectX** Thanks, J

Hi! I recently purchased Flight Simulator 2004. Here are my system specs: Dell Dimension 4500 @1.8 g P4, 128 mb RAM, 32 MB ATI Rage 128 Ultra Graphocs Card, SoundMAX Digital Audio... I want to be able to set the Display settings high, but when I do, the game becomes extremely laggy. I knwo I need more memory, but would you reccomend more memory or a better graphics card? If I got like 512 mbs of DDR (plus the 128 I already have) wouldnt that be enough to power the graphics card and the game, so the card can run at high settings? Wouldnt more RAM make the game run smoother/faster at high settings? I found tons of ram really cheap online, but graphics cards are expensive! If Im going to get a new one, I want to get maybe a 256 ATI, but the cheapest I can find is like $200! So, what would you reccomend I should do? Thanks, Jared G.

Okay how do I figure out about the chipset mobo? Where do I go to figure out what it is? I will definitely try plugging it into a different computer, I don't know why I didn't think of that... Jared

Okay... like I mentioned my joystick is a plug and play USB joystick, and windows xp DID pick it up and automatically install it the first time I plugged it in. It worked fine until like a month ago. Ive recalibrated it and theres no option where you can set the slider so like when its all the way down its automatically 0 or all the way up 100, sorry. Is there anyway to update the drivers? Thanks, Jared

HI... I am having a problem with my Microsft SideWinder Joystick. It is just a plain black joystick, theres no forcefeedback, no POV hat, just three buttons and a trigger on the stick and four buttons and a throttle on the base. I bought it in January of 2003 at RadioShack. The prbolem im having is that the throttle is screwed up. Ill be playing for example, Combat FS 2 and I'll have the throttle all the way up and it will only say 89%. Sometimes this will "flicker" from 89 to 100 and then down to 77 when I dont even touch it. It started doing this like 3 months ago. I've recalibrated it like 1000 times and unplugged it and plugged it back in into differnet USB ports (it's usb, by the way) and still it keeps doing this. I'm running Windows XP Home Edition and our computers like 3 years old. We got the computer BEFORE I bought the stick... the joystick didn't come with any software, cd's, you simply plugged it in and Window's drivers would detect and install it. Nothing is wrong with moving the slider up and down, its smooth and glides. Is this a software problem, or has my joystick gone to heck? I spent 35 bucks on this and like Isaid its been working fine. ALSO Do I need like a software update? Everywhere I go other people are like yeah you need Version 4.0 of the SideWinder controller software, other places say that its only for the force feedback steering whell... what does this program do anyway? Is it just a driver update or is it like a controller management program? Like I said its USB and I have WIN XP so I think id need a different version of the 4.0 software IF thats what I even need. Thanks for all of your help, Jared Ghioto
