It should be on the CD. If you are using Windows XP/2000, do you use compatibility mode to install it?

Press D to delete an existing partition. If you press D to delete an existing partition, you must then press L (or press ENTER, and then press L if it is the System partition) to confirm that you want to delete that partition. Or download Ultimate Boot CD from http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ and use it's partition tools to partition your HD.

I take from winipcfg that you are using Windows 9x? You can always use command line version of it: winipcfg /release and winipcfg /renew Consider upgrading Windows, if possible. 9x, 2000 (and soon XP with or without SP1) are not anymore supported by MS.

RA 1 is so old, that it does not support 800x600 or higher resolutions.

Double-click My Computer, and then select the hard disk you want to check. On the File menu, click Properties. Click the Tools tab. In the Error-checking box, click Check Now. In Check disk options, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box. Select also the Automatically fix file system errors check box. If the volume you are checking is in use, a message asks whether you want to delay disk error checking until the next time you restart your computer. After you restart, disk error checking runs and the volume chosen is not available to run other tasks during this process. -
If I type vbscript.dll (Note: There are no spaces typed.) It'll show up as: vb_script_.dll, where _ is space. Is this a bug or behaviour by design?

If Cormac's suggestion does not work, try these: 1)-- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910341/en-us, "Section B: Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP", Step 2. 2)-- Do you have "Client of Microsoft Networks" installed? Control Panel->Network Connections (classic) / Network and Internet Connections (nonclassic). Right Local Area Network and select Properties. One site mentioned this. 3)-- Reinstall the activex component. 1. Browse to C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files. Locate WUWebControl Class, rightclick it and select Delete. Answer yes. 2. Start->Run: Type cmd Now type to prompt: net stop wuauserv Leave the prompt screen open. 3. Browse to C:\WINDOWS. Locate "SoftwareDistribution" folder and delete it. 4. Back on the prompt screen. Type: net start wuauserv Then: exit 5. Start IE and Windows Update, it should ask to install it (during scan).

Found this. Quote: http://help.lockergnome.com/general/Sims-Faq-ftopict44996.html 5. The game crashes at startup with error message: AppName: sims2.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.994 ModName: ~df394b.tmp ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0008e86b This is due to the CD/DVD drive having problems reading the disk. First of all try another drive if you have one. I've had some success up[censored] the firmware of the drive, firmware updates are available from the manufacturer. If it still doesn't work or there are no firmware updates buy another drive. And some german site mentioned to uninstall daemon tools, if installed.

Finnish heavy metal band Lordi (song "Hard Rock Hallelujah") has won the 51st Eurovision Song Contest by 292(!) points. At last, I say (Finland's highest rank in eurovision has been 6th, in 1973).
