help with hidden or disappeared partition
Wilhelmus replied to Strangette's topic in Everything New Technology
You need to assign drive letter to it. After that you'll need to format it, if you did not already. Quote: 1. Log on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group. 2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance. Note If you do not see Performance and Maintenance, go to step 3. Performance and Maintenance appears in Control Panel only if you use Category view. If you use Classic view, Performance and Maintenance does not appear. 3. Click Administrative Tools, double-click Computer Management, and then click Disk Management in the left pane. 4. Right-click the drive, the partition, the logical drive, or the volume that you want to assign a drive letter to, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths. 5. Click Add. 6. Click Assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, and then either accept the default drive letter or click the drive letter that you want to use. 7. Click OK. -
Final Fantasy VII: Ran Patch but Still Won't Install!
Wilhelmus replied to edworrrrd's topic in Games
XP x64 uses kernel from Windows 2003 server (Windows 2003 version number is 5.2 and XP is 5.1), so the patch program thinks that you are using 2003 server. Try running patch program in compability mode. -

To access Administrator account on Home XP, you'll need boot your computer to Safe Mode. Check folder: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures". There should be bitmaps named accountname.bmp, example if your account name is 'Donna', then there should .bmp named 'Donna.bmp'. -
You'll need modify C:\Boot.ini file. Start->Run. notepad c:\boot.ini

Have you tried this: Quote: Originally posted by Wilhelmus: Here is how I installed it. First put the RA CD on first CD/DVD drive. 1) On RA CD, there are folder named SETUP and there are dos version of the installer, install.exe. Launch it. 2) It'll start and then ask for sound card, I selected none. 3) Then it asks where to install. C:\WESTWOOD\RA 4) Files copied.... 5) After install go to where you installed it. 6) Download 1.08 patch. http://www.sharoma.com/ral/files/ra108usp.exe. Copy the file to RA folder, doubleclick it. Then use extracted PATCH.EXE to patch it. 7) Copy the patch file ("ra108usp.exe") to your RA folder ("c:\westwood\redalert"). 8) Doubleclick the patch file to start file extracting. 9) Now, on the folder there should be file named "patch.exe". Doubleclick it. 10) Wait while it patches RA. Dos screen will appear for while. Let it finish. 11) Now you have patched the game, create shortcut for file named "RA95.exe". Rightclick the shortcut and select Properties. Click Compatiblity tab. Apply following compatiblity settings to shortcut: Windows 95, 256 colors, 640x480, Disable themes and turn off advanced text services. 12) Done, launch the game by using this shortcut.

Do you get access to somekind command prompt after that? If you do, try re-running ghost by using this command: ghost -afile=NUL This prevents ghost to writing any error information to file.

System Restore Blank Page. Tried several fixes, none of them worked!
Wilhelmus replied to shassouneh's topic in Software
You can 'recreate' the machineguid.txt. On restore folder, doubleclick the srdiag.exe. It'll create new .cab file. Open it and you'll find your machineguid.txt. machineguid.txt file just contains Globally Unique Identifier string, mine is "{4A8CFAF4-E170-4857-9DA5-71D7BBE27F50} ". -

1) regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll 2) http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/kb896688_fix.zip 3) When you have tried to open system restore, check your event viewer (eventvwr.msc) for errors/warnings generated by "sr", "srservice" or any other source. -
