Dungeon Keeper 2 v1.70 (UK/US) (for another language, use page search). One site mentioned that this patch does not require previous versions. See if that helps.

I've been using ESET Nod32, for year now. It's fast and there's only popups when it updates it's virus databases (you can disable notifications). Currently it uses around 30 MB of memory (1 GB total and running Windows XP Pro). It scans files your browser access, so if there's virus or other malware in the page, it'll terminate the connection to page. There's email protection too.

What installer does it have? If it does have Windows Installer (MSI), then you could try to use Orca to modify the .msi file and see if you can remove OS check from it. DosFreak's Windows Defender + Windows 2000, see that how to use it. You can get Orca from here (Orca.zip), for instance.

Can you try another XP CD (or any other bootable CD, like Ubuntu live CD)? If it boots from there, then your XP CD can be faulty.

Method 1) This requires floppy drive and one diskette. You need download SATA/RAID drivers for your motherboard or SATA card from manufacturer's website. Then extract the zip / self extracting file to diskette. Then when you start XP's setup, you'll need to press F6 when prompted, at start of installation. Follow on-screen instructions. Method 2) Integrate the drivers to installation media. This requires XP CD, which you have, CD burner and one blank CD. (CD-RW is better option, in case it does not work at first time...) And program called NLite. Follow this guide: Install Windows XP on SATA without a Floppy (F6).

If your Windows partition is in NTFS format, Ubuntu will not see it without installing special driver. Mounting Windows Partitions (NTFS-3G). -
Have you tried installing latest drivers for your integrated card? These should be for your card: IntelĀ® 82945G Express Chipset (for Windows XP). (For Windows Vista 32bit)

Booting linux and windows from same HDD partitions
Wilhelmus replied to ktpmsmd's topic in Everything Linux
Red Hat 9 is rather old (released in 2003), you might have better luck with Linux using Fedora 7 (based on RH) or Ubuntu. To uninstall GRUB boot loader (and restore Windows XP's boot loader) you need to use fixboot C: and fixmbr commands in Recovery Console. See this how to get into recovery console, requires XP CD: Description of the Windows XP Recovery Console. Then, when you are in the recovery console, execute those two commands and they should remove GRUB. -

If you did not backup your EFS key before you formatted, sadly your files are gone. Try if AEFSDR (Advanced EFS Data Recovery) can recover them. And for future: How to back up the recovery agent Encrypting File System (EFS).
