    Interstate 82 on XP

Quote: If you run WinXP Professional Edition, simply right click on i82stub.exe and set it to "Win 98 compatibility mode". This will get the game working. However if you run WinXP Home Edition, you may also need to delete the following file: "aclayers.dll" as well as enable the 98 compatibilty mode. I don't know what this file is or what it does, but Home users whom can't play i82 will need to delete this file in order to load i82. This is a Windows component which will self restore if found to be missing. Load i82 as soon as you delete this or it will be re-created and you'll have to do it again and be faster next time. Don't worry about deleting it, since it self restores, no harm will come to your operating system. You only need to delete it in order to load i82. Once i82 has loaded the file won't affect you. http://lazyboy.multiservers.com/i82servers.html And:http://www.ntcompatible.com/cdetail6062.html

    IP address being dropped

Do you have Symantec's Norton AntiVirus installed/uninstalled? To resolve this problem, perform the following steps: Start a registry editor (Start->Run:"regedit.exe"). Navigate to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dhcp" registry subkey. Double-click "DependOnService". Remove SYMTDI from the list, then click OK. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Or if that does not help, try this: http://www.wown.com/articles_tutorials/w2knoaip.html

Quote: Make Sure You Are Using Protected Mode Drivers If you have Windows 95 or Windows 98, ensure that you are using protected mode (32-bit) drivers for your CD-ROM or DVD drive. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click System. 3. On the Performance tab, confirm that the File System entry is 32-bit. If the File System entry is Some drives are using MS-DOS compatibility you are using MS-DOS disc drivers (real mode or 16-bit drivers). If this is the case, you may not be able to read certain files on the CD-ROM as some programs only work correctly with protected-mode drivers. To obtain protected-mode drivers for CD or DVD drives, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 151634 Protected-Mode CD-ROM Drive Support in Windows 4. Click OK, and then close Control Panel. If the issue continues to occur, proceed to the next method. Enable/Disable UDF Support If you are using Windows 98 or Windows Me, change the UDF setting. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Click Advanced. 3. Click the Disable UDF File System option, and then click OK. 4. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click OK, and then click Yes. When your computer restarts, UDF support has changed. If this makes no difference, change the setting back. Reduce Drive Caching To reduce CD-ROM or DVD drive caching, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click System. 3. On the Performance tab, click File System. 4. On the CD-ROM or DVD tab, move the Supplemental Cache Size slider to the Small position. 5. In the Optimize Access Pattern For box, click NoRead-Ahead. 6. Click OK, and then click Close. 7. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes. Quote: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;142006 NOTE: If you are using Windows 3.x drivers for your sound card, the Preferred Device fields are unavailable. APPLIES TO • Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition • Microsoft Windows 98 Standard Edition Try replacing drivers. Go back to old drivers and see if that fixes it. If it does, try finding other, new drivers. These I found by using google: http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/drivers/32/32359.htm Are these same as you have downloaded? These drives do not have setup program, so you'll have to install them manually via device manager. Unzip the zip for example to c:\soundcard-drivers\. Remove the sound card device from device manager. Reboot Windows. It will redetect your card and it should ask what to do. Select have disk and browse to folder, where you extracted the drivers.

Bug Too! under Windows XP! HELP!

Well.. you'll need some how bypass the directx installation. One thing could try is if the setup uses registry to check directx version, you change value in registry. Start->Run:regedit.exe My Computer->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX There(on the right panel) is value named "Version". DirectX 7: 4.07.00.0700 DirectX 9c (latest): 4.09.00.0904 And: DirectX 2.0 / 2.0a: 4.03.00.1096 Backup the value before you modify it! Export the registry path (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX). Try downloading Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 4.0 and see if it have some DirectX related compatiblity. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...;DisplayLang=en And see if there are dxsetup.exe or other oblivious directx setup application and try move it away from the installation folder (Copy CD to HD). It may skip the dx installation Or give error about missing file... My .02c.

Should my cpu always be running at 100%

Some new games and programs just bring the older (and sometimes newer) computers to their knees. Try shutting down/disabling background programs, e.g. instant messaging software, while you play games. This will give some more processor time to game.
