@luis256: Does your video card have the latest drivers? Have you tried using the nvidia's control panel and in-game options to reduce graphical settings? Like vsync.

Try copying all the CDs to your hard drive, like c:\sims2cd1, c:\sims2cd2, etc. Then launch the setup from the "sims2cd1" folder and when asked for another CD, point it to "c:\sims2cd2" and so on.

Try installing NVIDIA's Linux nForce Drivers for your chipset. Ethernet driver seems to be named as forcedeth. -

Try this if you have not yet. From the boot menu (same menu where are the safe mode options), select the 'Disable automatic restart on system failure' option. This prevents Windows from rebooting when BSOD occurs and you can see it.

You could try this: Start -> Run: regedit browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup Create or edit data which name is Installation Sources (data type REG_MULTI_SZ) add the "C:\Windows\System32" to it. -

Try disabling the automatic restart on system failure: Click Start, then Run and type: wmic recoveros set AutoReboot = False This should stop on the BSOD. Then tell us what driver is causing this.
