    Resident Evil 3

Quote: From Capcom support page. Q: Why doesn't Resident Evil 3 work with Windows XP? A: While "Resident Evil 3" was developed before the release of Windows XP, we have been able to run it successfully on this operating system. There is a known issue between the program and some sound card drivers that causes the symptom you described. In order to remedy the situation, you will need to minimize the amount of DirectX acceleration for sound. To do this, please follow these steps: 1. Close all running applications in Windows, 2. Click on the [start] button on your taskbar, 3. Click [Run] button. 4. Type "dxdiag" into the box, without quotes (this will open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool application, which will run a diagnostic immediately and take several seconds to complete). 5. Click on the "Sound" tab, 6. Set the "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level" slider to "Basic Acceleration" or "No Acceleration" (try using the "Basic" setting first, and switch to "No Acceleration" if the game will still not run), and 7. Click on [Exit]. --- Quote: also does any one have a serial key for Resident evil 3?.. or a crack or something please! Illegal operation, not supported.

    Windows XP crashing consistently

This may be RAM issue. Quote: STOP 0x0000008e CAUSE This behavior may occur if one of the following conditions is true: • One or more of the random access memory (RAM) modules that are installed on your computer are faulty. • The RAM configuration is incompatible with Windows XP. Download memtest86 or prime95 and test your memory for errors. Or: If you have more than one memory module, leave only one in place and remove others, start your system and see if you got any errors. Repeat this for other memory modules. This should 'eliminate' faulty ram, if you got one.

    win2000 admin password lost help

Well, there are some utilities which can be used to recover lost passwords. You will do this on your own risk, none can be held responsible if something goes wrong. BACKUP your system before you do anything. Quote: Resetting a user's or administrator's password on some systems (like Windows XP) might cause data loss, especially EFS-encrypted files and saved passwords from within Internet Explorer. --- This page have links to password recovery utilities: http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm You'll need to create bootable diskette or cdrom and start the utility and follow on-screen instructions.

    Please Help me

Quote: The IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or Stop 0x0000000A errors are able to be generated by both software and hardware issues. The message indicates that a kernel mode process or driver attempted to access a memory address that it did not have access to. Quote: RESOLUTION To resolve these behaviors, perform one or more of the following: • Replace the faulty hardware. You may be able to determine the faulty hardware by running diagnostics provided by the manufacturer. Please contact the hardware manufacturer for more information. • Disable any anti-virus software that is running on your computer. If the STOP errors no longer occur, contact the anti-virus software manufacturer about a possible upgrade. • Disable any third-party drivers that may be running. 'bout chipset for high-low water sensor

Basically you need a PC with serial port, rs-232 cable(s), 8051 microcontroller-kit w/ com port and compiler for it (DDS MICRO-C 8051 Cross Compiler for example. [it is C based compiler]) and other parts depending for your project... (motors, etc.) - For example, If you want measure temperature of water, you will need thremal sensor for that. Then you need write program which reads data from sensor output(s) and write it back to serial port or something like that. Program in 8051mc ram reads sensor output data and process it->Writes it to MC's com port->PC program reads it from PC's com port and process it. You can easily modify the program for your needs. And you need something about electronics. Provide more info please! Quote: Keep this in mind, & it will help you get a BETTER grade too by saying your stuff can run on BOTH Linux and Win32... I would grade you higher for it @ least as a "GOOD SOUND BUSINESS DECISION FOR PRODUCT STRATEGY" as well as choosing a HIGH-PERFORMANCE AND FAST PROGRAMMING SYSTEM like Delphi, etc. As fellow Delphi programmer, I agree.

    Please Help me

Quote: Stop 0x00000024 or NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM The Stop 0x24 message indicates that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. A similar Stop message, 0x23, exists for the file allocation table (FAT16 or FAT32) file systems. Possible Resolutions: * Malfunctioning SCSI and Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA) hardware or drivers can also adversely affect the system's ability to read and write to disk, causing errors. If using SCSI hard disks, check for cabling and termination problems between the SCSI controller and the disks. Periodically check Event Viewer for error messages related to SCSI or FASTFAT in the System log or Autochk in the Application log. * Verify that the tools you use to continually monitor your system, such as virus scanners, backup programs, or disk defragmenters are compatible with Windows XP. Some disks and adapters come packaged with diagnostic software that you can use to run hardware tests. As Alec§taar mentioned, recovery console can help you. Boot up with your XP CD and see what it says. Try running "chkdsk /p /r" for (all) your hard drive(s).

    Access denied in DOS

Well, that "lsass.exe" is in use when you have started XP/200x and it does not let you replace it. You need to do this from Windows recovery console. But, first type "gpedit.msc" to Start->Run dialog to start Group Policy Editor. Select: Computer Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Local Policies->Security Options, then double-click "Recovery Console: Allow floppy copy and access to all drives and all folders." Select Enabled, then click OK. Close Group Policy Editor. Put your Windows cd to cdrom drive and reboot. Start from cd and when you get to "Welcome to Windows setup" screen, Windows 2000 Select "r" for repair. Then select "c" to use recovery console. Windows XP Select "r" for repair. Select your Windows installation (default is 1), login to system with your Administrator account. When logged in successfully, execute following commands: "set AllowAllPaths = TRUE" and: "expand %cdromdrive%:\i386\lsass.ex_ c:\windows\system32" (Replace the %cdromdrive% with your cdrom drive letter. eg. D ) Then write "exit" and reboot your system. Good luck

    Sims 2 DirectX 9.0c Problem

Ok, these may or may not help you... Quote: First, make sure your graphics card is supported. It must be listed in the system requirements. Here are the system requirements for Sims 2: Quote: If you have a T&L capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM then you need at least: * 800 MHz P3 processor * 256 MB RAM if Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000 * At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space If you have a non-T&L capable video card (such as Intel Extreme Graphics or Radeon VE Series) then you need at least: * 2.0 GHz processor * 256 MB RAM if Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98, or Windows 2000 * At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space Supported video cards (and the more video memory the better): * ATI Radeon™ series (7000 or better): - Radeon VE Series (non-T&L - requires 2.0 GHz processor) - Radeon 7000 (non-T&L - requires 2.0 GHz processor) - Radeon 7200, 7500 - Radeon 8500, All-In-Wonder 8500 - Radeon 9000, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800 - Radeon X300, X600, X800 * Nvidia® Quadro™ series: - Quadro, Quadro2, Quadro4 * Nvidia® Geforce series (GeForce2 and better): - GeForce2 - GeForce3, 3 Ti - GeForce4, 4Ti, MX 420, 440 - GeForce FX 5200, 5600, 5700, 5800, 5900, 5950 - GeForce 6800 * Intel® Extreme Graphics (non-T&L - requires 2.0 GHz processor): - 82845, 82865, 82915 If your graphics card is not in this list, consider upgrading it. Quote: If it's not supported, the game might work, but there's no guarantee that it will. Also remember that some cards, the non-T&L ones, will always require at least 2.0 Ghz processor power to run properly. Quote: To find out what kind of Graphics card you have, click Start, Run, and enter 'DXDiag' (without quotes). Click the Run button. Let DXDiag finish loading, then go to the "Display" tab. On the Display tab you'll see the name and manufacturer of the graphics card. OR try Lavasys' EVEREST Home Edition (it is freeware): http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1〈=en&pageid=1 Install and start it. Then goto "Display->GPU", it will show information about your graphic card. Quote: First try to download new drivers from the manufacturer of the graphics card. Here are some common manufacturers: Asus: www.asus.com ATi: www.ati.com Creative Labs: www.creative.com Guillemot: www.guillemot.com Hercules: www.hercules.com MicroStar Int. (MSI): www.msi.com.tw PNY: www.pny.com Sapphire: www.sapphiretech.com XFX / Pine: www.xfxforce.com If there are no improvements after installing the new drivers, you can try to download the drivers from the manufacturer of the chipset on the card. For instance, Radeon (ATi) and GeForce (nVidia) are chipsets of graphics cards. Here are a few common manufacturers of chipsets, and their most common chipsets: ATi (Radeon): www.ati.com Intel (Extreme Graphics): www.intel.com Matrox (Millennium, Parhelia): www.matrox.com nVidia (TNT, GeForce, Quadro): www.nvidia.com PowerVR (Kyro): www.powervr.com S3 (DeltaChrome, Savage, ViRGE): www.s3graphics.com SiS (SiS, Xabre): www.sis.com Look for "Graphics Drivers" or "GPU Drivers" or someting like that on all of these sites to find the drivers for your card. Note: There have been reported some problems of crashes or lock-ups when playing the Sims 2 and using ATi's Catalyst 4.9 Drivers (for Radeon cards). For now, try either using Catalyst 4.8 or wait for Catalyst 4.10 to be released if you're having trouble with the Catalyst 4.9 drivers. Quote: If up[censored] your drivers still doesn't work, you might have faulty installation of DirectX. Try the following to fix that: - Make sure the Sims 2 CD is in the drive - Open My Computer. - Right click on the Sims2 icon (of the CD-rom drive) and choose Open. - Double-click on the DirectX folder. - Right-click on the DSETUP.dll file and choose Copy. - Close this window. - Open My Computer again. - This time, open your C: drive (usually called Local Disk). - Now open the WINDOWS folder (Sometimes also called WINNT). - Open the SYSTEM (Windows 98/ME) or SYSTEM32 (Windows 2000/XP) folder. - Right-click on an empty space in the folder and choose Paste. It the issue persists, you might have to reinstall DirectX 9.0c. This is located on the Sims 2 CD, or you can download it from the following website: www.microsoft.com/directx OR Download "DirectX 9.0c Redistributable for Software Developers - Multilingual": http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...;displaylang=en (It is about 33 MB...) Quote: To install it from the CD, make sure the CD is in the drive, then follow these steps: - Open My Computer - Right click on the Sims 2 icon (of the CD drive) and choose Open - Open the DirectX folder - Double click the DXSetup icon to run the DirectX installation. - Follow the instructions on your screen. You might need to reboot after the installation has finished. Quote: 1. Click on Start. 2. Click on Run... 3. Type 'dxdiag' into the box (without quotes). 4. Click OK. 5. Click on the Display tab. 6. Find the DirectX Features box. 7. The first feature is DirectDraw Acceleration. It should say 'Enabled' next to it. If it says 'Disabled', click the Enable button. 8. The second feature is Direct3D Acceleration. It should say 'Enabled' next to it. If it says 'Disabled', click the Enable button. 9. The third feature is AGP Texture Acceleration. It should say 'Enabled' next to it. If it says 'Disabled', click the Enable button. 10. Once all three are enabled, close the window. Try starting game again.
