  1. why would anyone WANT to do this? i'm not the biggest IE fan, I use firefox when I can, but IE is needed for integrated WinXP functions. for example, the biggest problem with getting rid of it would be this.... how ya gonna use windows update? you'd have to manually download updates for everything or you would have to use sms 2003 or wsus, which also i think might use IE functions, maybe best thing to do is just not use it, and also i think winxp sp2 has an easy option to get rid of the shortcuts and default browser integration. for now, just trust me on this, if you wanna use winxp for general usage, DONT delete IE6. just keep it around in the background, but dont use it unless it's for windows update, or specific IE6 sites like hotmail, etc etc
  2. I got rras installed and configured manually to be a router. The problem is it doesn't route. What do I need to do to make the two networks, 192.168.0.0 and 192.168.3.0 talk to each other? The setup is as follows: 192.168.3.101 (wireless client) | 192.168.3.1 (linksys router) | 192.168.3.2 (ethernet) Windows 2003 Router 192.168.0.11 (ethernet) | HUB---------Windows 2003 Internet Gateway (192.168.0.2) | 192.168.0.10 Windows 2003 (PDC)
  3. i have a laptop from work that is part of a windows domain. the laptop runs win2k sp4. my home computer is on winxp pro sp2. problem i'm having is, i can't use windows file sharing at home when i log onto the laptop using an offline account. winxp is setup for internet sharing. the laptop gets an ip just fine, i can ping and vnc into laptop. netbios seems to resolve names just fine but i can't seem to log into winxp. HOWEVER, i AM able to log into the laptop from my home computer. anyone know what can be the cause of this?
