  1. I am new to Linux, I am trying to install Suse 9.1 on a PIII 667Mhz. I get the install menu when booting from cd but when i click the install button it loads the kernel and reboots. I have removed all extra hardware from the computer but it still reboots. Did a memory test, all was fine. Checked the Bios settings, but couldn't find anything wrong. Disabled as many pheripherals as possible, still no luck. After that i tried other distro's: Slackware and Debian. Both came up with the same problem. My configuration is: Intel PIII 667Mhz socket 370 Motherboard: MSI6153 with VIA chipset 128Mb pc133 memory Abit siluro GF2 MX HDD 2Gb 52xCd-rom can anyone help me please? thanks in advance

    Newbie trying to install Linux...

I am using the cd-rom drive to boot. I am using original cd's. When I hold shift while booting and typing in the option "linux" I also get the error and reboot. Before I tried linux, Windows 98 SE was installed on the computer and worked fine.
