I have a problem with Cold Fear. I installed it normally, run it normally...but when i want to start a new game, after choosing difficulty, there is intro movie, after it...when the game should start...it exit's to desktop. the game just refuses to start I've read that many people had a problem with refresh rate...so they couldn't see menu...i can see it...but i cant start a game:( anyone has an idea? could someone send me saved game so i can try and run that...

I wouldn't call it a bug...I remember playing the game on win 95 and 98 without problems, so...it must be because XP, but I doesn't matter much... have fun playing the game

I had the same problem...there's another topic about that, I don't believe there is another soulution but to bypass that cut scene. Here's what you need to do: When you (playing as Jill) enter the room with Barry...go back to the hall...Wesker will talk to you and Jill will go back, then try to go to Wesker again...and Barry will say something...then go to him...but when you get to clock...zombie will get in the room and Barry will kill him...there will be the same movie...but near clock...and you will be able to continue the game...that's all.

Hello, try lowering Soundcard Hardware Acceleration...that worked on many older games, so...try that first. go to CONTROL PANEL---->SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES then click on AUDIO---->Advanced...and lower HARDWARE ACCELERATION

Try making an ISO from that cd...and use Alcohol 120% or Deamon tools to mount it on virtual drive. Then use compatibility mode on these files: CHECKER.EXE LAUNCH.EXE SETUP.EXE RESIDENT EVIL.EXE Try to run the setup again...there should be an error right away...but pressing ESC will allow you to continue. Install everything and choose any video card...and play. If you cant install everything....then choose minimal....or nothing to install...and then try to play.

I have the same problem....have you guys find a way to solve it? anyone else has suggestion? compatibility and sound hardware acceleration tricks dont help on this one... thanks
